A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF YEAR 9

It has been an exciting week for Year 9 with lots of school trips. We had our first two Strawberry Hill House trips with English, where students learned more about the Gothic genre and explored a Gothic house right on our doorstep. It was a really successful trip, and it was great to see the students getting so involved, including dressing up in Gothic outfits and creating their own Gothic comics. Our drop down day trip on Thursday was also a great success. Students enjoyed exploring iconic areas of central London, including museums, the London Zoo, the London Dungeons, and the London Eye. It was wonderful to see the students embracing these trips with such enthusiasm. Congratulations to the Year 9 rounders team on their win against RTS! This victory means we advance to the final of the Year 9/10 rounders league and will play Greycourt. Player of the match was Jasmine G with 2 rounders, some fabulous catches, and some amazing throws from deep field. On Monday, we hosted the Year 7 taster day, where incoming Year 6 students toured the school. A group of Year 9 students were assigned to look after them for the day and were absolutely brilliant. They were positive assets to the school. Well done to Alishba B, Sadie BD, Holly C, Jasmine G, Ria J, Sara C, Freya B, Maddie O, Matilda T, Mae P, Emma W, Ava S, Isla R, Connie A, Isabelle E, Afrodite T, Charlotte H, Olivia L, Ellie M, Mia W, Daisy D, Immy B, Pea R, Lottie K, and Alice Y. We have the last of our Duke of Edinburgh trips this weekend. Hopefully, students have enjoyed the experience, and well done to all who successfully completed their practice and assessment expeditions. As we enter the final two weeks of term, we want to ensure that students finish on a positive note. This means upholding uniform expectations right until the final day of term, including no false/polished nails or fake eyelashes.
