The society has taken on many historical projects over the years and future plans include placing historical plaques at the sites of former schools and other histori- cal buildings in the area. RUSSELL l The Russell and District Histori- cal Society needs help with the 2014 edi- tion of the Russell Heritage Festival to be held on Saturday, October 4, which will celebrate local schools and feature chiv- alry demonstrations from the Armoured Company of the Sword.
