M eet Sheila C.! Some people casually collect a few Precious Moments gifts here and there and
appreciate the special events, milestones, or
sentiments they represent. A rare few others collect so many that they construct an entire building to house their collection! Sheila C. from Iowa joyfully falls in the latter category. Sheila has been a Club Member on and off over the last couple of decades. HER PRECIOUS MOMENTS JOURNEY BEGAN WHEN SHE WAS MARRIED IN 1993 AND CHOSE A PRECIOUS MOMENTS CAKE TOPPER. It was her very first, and one of her most meaningful figurines. Since then, her collection has grown exponentially! In the beginning, most of her figurines came from gifts shops. Today she enjoys the “hunt”, exploring thrift stores, antique malls, and online sites in search of hard to find collectibles. Her collection has grown to somewhere around 3,500 pieces including figurines, dolls, plates, bells, and pretty much everything else Precious Moments related. After housing the collection in the spare rooms in her home, Sheila decided it needed a home of its own. “When the kids moved out, the Precious Moments really moved in,” she jokes. Plans were soon underway for a building, or “museum”, on her property.
