Veseth Cattle Co - Annual Production Sale [3/9/26]

Veseth Cattle Facts

Will Baeth leads with 4-H steer champions for the Veseth Steers. His steer placed Grand Champion in the Red Angus Division and placed 2nd in the overall carcass competition. He had a 9.45 marbling score, which put him in a quality grade of nearly mid-prime. My reaction was we should have left his testicles in that bull and put him out with the cows.

Aubrey Smith from Cohagen got in the winner’s circle for the third time with Veseth genetic descendants.

The Ranch retained our steers and sold them on the carcass in 2025. The Simmental Association collected carcass data on 135 steers. The averages were as follows: Carcass Yield 65.80% ADG 3.84 DM FC 6.21 Cost of Gain (Deads In) 0.9632 Deads % 2.86 In Weight 802 Out Weight 1635 Grade: Prime 8.80% Choice 80.70% Prime + Choice 89.50% Select 10.50% Average Yield Grade 3.10% Yield Grade 1=2 22.90% Yield Grade 5 3.70% Starting in 2027, the ranch has joined the Country Natural Beef Cooperative and will market our steers through this program for premium beef. This will allow more carcass information on our cattle and hopefully down the road some market options for our customer’s cattle. - 41 -
