WELCOME TO BALI!

Bali - one of over 17,000 islands that make up the Republic of Indonesia. The island’s area is 5,600 km, with its administrative center in the city of Denpasar. Approximately 4 million people live on the island, and it attracts over 6 million tourists annually. Language : The official language is Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian language), while Balinese is the local language. English is widely spoken in tourist areas, and occasionally you may meet locals who speak Russian fairly well, mainly guides and hotel staff. Climate : Tropical. It’s hot and fairly humid year-round, with daytime temperatures ranging from 30 to 35 degrees Celsius. Evenings are slightly cooler. Bali experiences two seasons - wet (November to March) and dry (April to October). Despite the high humidity of 75% - 100%, Bali’s climate is generally tolerable. Religion : Approximately 90% of the island’s inhabitants adhere to Balinese Hinduism, while the remaining 10% follow Islam, Buddhism, Christianity, and other religions. Currency: The national currency is the Indonesian Rupiah. It’s most convenient and advantageous to exchange currency at licensed money changers, such as those in the Central Kuta network, which are found in almost all tourist areas on the island. Exchange rates at hotels and banks are typically lower. There is also a lower exchange rate for bills with denominations below $100 - $50. Most money changers do not accept US dollars issued before 2003. If you exchange too much money, you can convert Rupiah back to dollars or euros at the Ngurah Rai International Airport. Most credit cards are accepted for payment at hotels and major shopping centers. Cash in Rupiah is necessary for purchases, taxis, and other expenses. Shopping : Street vendors and shops are plentiful and very popular among tourists. Standard store hours are from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM without closing for lunch or weekends. There are convenience stores open 24/7, such as M Mart or Circle K, where you can purchase beverages, cigarettes, and other small items. Bargaining is appropriate at stalls and small shops, but prices are fixed in larger retail stores.

USEFUL TIPS

GENERAL COUNTRY INFORMATION

• For internet usage and local calls, you can purchase local SIM cards, such as those from Telkomsel. Remember to register your IMEI before arriving in Indonesia to ensure your local SIM card works in your phone. • Keep your money, documents, and valuables in a safe in your hotel room. Particularly valuable items should be stored in the safe at the reception. • Always use sunscreen with a high protection factor and reapply it periodically, especially if swimming in pools or the ocean. • Do not use tap water for drinking, even if boiled. Only bottled water, such as Aqua, is suitable for consumption. You can buy water at any nearby convenience store. • Thoroughly wash your hands, vegetables, and fruits. • Use repellent when going outside the hotel premises. • Avoid stepping on offerings left on the ground or road. • Do not swim in non-designated swimming areas. • Avoid wearing short or revealing clothing when visiting temples. • Most hotels consider check-out time to be between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM, and check-in time for rooms is typically at 3:00 PM. • Upon check-in at the hotel, a deposit is usually required (the amount and purpose depend on each hotel’s policy).

Indonesia is such a large country that no one is entirely sure how many islands make up the archipelago. Scientists count 17,508 islands, making it the largest archipelago in the world, spanning over 5,200 kilometers between the Asian and Australian continents. It’s no wonder that ethnic, cultural, and linguistic diversity in this country is immense – with an estimated 200 million people speaking over 500 languages and dialects.

The ethnic diversity is striking. Indonesia is the world’s largest Muslim-majority country, yet you will undoubtedly feel the local color, discovering a significant number of Christians, Hindus, and animists. Despite some internal conflicts and disagreements, Indonesians themselves are one of the best reasons to visit Indonesia – they are generally open and friendly people, regardless of their social status. Here are the facts about Indonesia: • Indonesia covers an area of over 1,904,000 square kilometers. • Scientists count 17,508 islands as part of Indonesia. • It is the largest archipelago in the world. • Indonesia is the world’s largest Muslim-majority country. • The population exceeds 270 million people, with more than half residing on the island of Java. • There are over 350 languages spoken in the country. • The highest peak in Indonesia is Puncak Jaya in West Papua, standing at 5,050 meters.

Assembly, headed by a President elected for a 5-year term. The House of Representatives consists of elected politicians, each representing at least 40,000 residents of the country. CLIMATE OF INDONESIA Indonesia has a tropical climate with temperatures ranging from 21°C to 33°C. In mountainous regions, temperatures can be cooler. The climate can be roughly divided into two seasons: wet and dry, influenced by monsoon winds that bring either moist or dry air masses to the islands. However, in many parts of the country, differences between seasons may not be very noticeable due to constant heat and high humidity. Typically, the rainy season lasts from November to April, with the wettest months being January and February, and the dry season from May to October. However, in northern Sumatra and central and northern parts of Maluku, seasons may be reversed. Additionally, each island may have its own microclimate, further complicating the picture. USEFUL TIPS FOR TRAVELING TO INDONESIA To obtain a 30-day visa on arrival, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of departure from Indonesia, and you must present a ticket for your departure from the country. Visa on arrival is not available for all countries, so it is advisable to check visa regulations before traveling. Entry and exit can be made through one of the 15 airports and 21 seaports officially designated as «international gateways» by the Immigration Department of Indonesia. Customs regulations in Indonesia prohibit the importation of the following items: • Goods purchased abroad exceeding $500 USD per person (subject to tax if detected). • More than 200 cigarettes or 25 cigars or 100 grams of tobacco (will be destroyed) (from 18 years old). • More than 1 liter of alcoholic beverages (will be destroyed) (from 21 years old). • Animals, fish, plants, or their products (will be quarantined if detected). • Narcotics, psychotropic drugs, firearms, ammunition, explosives, pornography (prohibited from importation). • Cinematographic films, recorded video tapes, discs, or other recordings (subject to censorship if detected). • Banknotes in Indonesian Rupiah or any other currency exceeding the amount of 100 million Rupiah must be declared upon entry.

HEALTH For entry into Indonesia, vaccinations are not required.

If you plan an extended trip involving travels and visits to less developed tourist zones, especially outside Bali and Java, consider getting the following vaccinations: typhoid, hepatitis A and B, tetanus, polio, rabies, Japanese encephalitis, diphtheria, and tuberculosis. In Russia, some of these vaccinations are mandatory and administered from childhood. Malaria vaccinations may be necessary in certain areas of Indonesia. The most common illness when visiting Indonesia is stomach upset. Drink only bottled water and avoid unfamiliar food. If you experience diarrhea, avoid spicy and fatty foods, alcohol, coffee, milk, and fruits. Consume young coconut, toast, rice, bananas, and noodles. Prevent dehydration by drinking plenty of fluids. The sun has a strong effect on the skin; beware of sunburns and use sunscreen. CURRENCY The currency of Indonesia is the Indonesian Rupiah. The exchange rate against the dollar fluctuates frequently; check with your agency before your trip.

CUISINE

BALI ISLAND — ISLAND OF THE GODS

Rice (Indonesian: nasi) is consumed 2-3 times a day by Indonesians. In areas with poor soil and low rainfall, locals grow cassava. In the highlands of West Papua, sweet potatoes are preferred, while in the Maluku Islands, sago is common. Noodles, borrowed from China, are also very popular but complement rather than replace rice. As expected from an island nation, Indonesia boasts excellent seafood. The main types of meat in this predominantly Muslim country include chicken, goat, and beef. In areas with other religious majorities, you may find venison and pork. In some regions, locals also eat dogs, rats, and flying foxes. Indonesia is a paradise for vegetarians. Eggplants, water spinach, beans, peppers, various types of cabbage, eastern lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, and pumpkin are available at almost any market. A popular vegetable dish is cap cay (Indonesian: cap cay), which consists of lightly steamed vegetables. Of course, we cannot overlook the abundance of fruits in Indonesia, such as bananas, papayas, coconuts, pineapples, watermelons, citrus fruits, guava, avocado, passion fruit, mango, mangosteen, durian, breadfruit, and more. The key ingredient in all Indonesian dishes is spices. They are ground and blended together, then fried in plenty of vegetable oil to create a paste used in many dishes. Most spice mixes share a common base, including chili, shrimp paste (Indonesian: terasi), ginger, onion, garlic, lime leaves, lemongrass, pandan leaves, lime juice, cinnamon, and turmeric. Another essential ingredient is palm sugar (Indonesian: gula merah). Some regions also use cloves and nutmeg. Cooking methods are straightforward, involving grilling, frying, or stewing (often in coconut milk). Dishes are typically accompanied by sauces such as thick and sweet soy sauce (Indonesian: kecap manis) and salty soy sauce (Indonesian: kecap asin), as well as sambal, a spicy chili sauce. Light dishes and snacks are particularly popular among both locals and tourists, including fried rice (Indonesian: nasi goreng), fried noodles (Indonesian: mie goreng), and gado-gado salad (steamed vegetables with peanut sauce). In different regions of Indonesia, the preparation of dishes varies not only in the amount of ingredients used but also in flavor preferences. For example, Balinese dishes tend to be sweet and less spicy in taste. Additionally, Chinese cuisine is widely available throughout Indonesia. In large cities and resorts, you can also find many restaurants serving European and Asian cuisine. Fast food chains like McDonald’s and Pizza Hut are also prevalent. As for alcoholic beverages, you’ll likely be offered beer such as Bintang and Anker since alcohol consumption is not heavily promoted in Indonesia. Among local drinks, palm wine (tuak or balok), rice wine (arak or brem), and distilled palm wine (sopi) are notable. Imported alcoholic beverages are sold in major tourist areas. Indonesian coffee is renowned as one of the best in the world, and Indonesians themselves enjoy drinking tea or coffee. Ground coffee is simply poured into a cup, topped with boiling water, and then sugar and sometimes milk are added.

The most popular resort on the island is Kuta Beach, stretching 6 km along the ocean. This resort is renowned for its numerous restaurants, bars, clubs, and shops. Those seeking peace and tranquility prefer Sanur, Candidasa, or the black sands of Lovina. Quieter yet more upscale experiences can be found along the coasts of Jimbaran and Nusa Dua. Diving and snorkeling enthusiasts favor the western part of the island — Bali National Park — or its eastern part in Amed. Surfing enthusiasts are best suited to stay around Uluwatu or on Nusa Lembongan Island. Despite the preference for beach vacations, an increasing number of tourists are drawn to Ubud — the cultural center of the island. Bali’s capital is Denpasar, while the ancient capitals of Klungkung and the northern city of Singaraja attract visitors with their museums, temples, and traditional markets. No matter which resort area tourists choose, they have access to all the island’s attractions: ancient temples, lush parks with exotic animals and birds, sacred volcanoes, and picturesque lakes. Balinese life revolves around ceremonies that celebrate gods and ancestors, so nearly every tourist becomes witness to at least one such ceremony — whether it’s a temple anniversary, a cremation, a wedding, or simply a full moon festival. A wonderful vacation and a wealth of experiences are guaranteed on Bali.

This temple was founded by the Hindu priest Nirartha in the early 17th century. From the viewing platform, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Indian Ocean. At sunset, Balinese dancers perform the traditional Kecak dance – the «fire dance» or «monkey dance.» About 150 Balinese men, dressed in sarongs, chant «chak-chak-chak» in a rhythmic recitation, while dancers in colorful costumes tell the story of Princess Sita and the evil demon Ravana. The main character of the performance is a dancer dressed as the white monkey, Hanuman, who performs his part dancing barefoot on hot coals.

TOURS

TOURS

TOURS: ANCIENT TEMPLES OF BALI During this excursion, you will visit three amazing temples of Bali. Goa Gajah, also known as the Elephant Cave, is believed to have been built in the 11th century at a site used for spiritual meditation. The entrance to the cave is adorned with the head of a monster, once mistakenly thought to be an elephant, hence the name «Elephant Cave.» Inside the temple, you can see symbols of both Hinduism and Buddhism, reflecting the essence of Hindu Dharma, which combines elements of Hinduism, Buddhism, and ancient beliefs from the island of Java. Another must-visit is the Tirta Empul temple, which is also included in our program. This temple of holy water is a place where Balinese people undergo a purification ritual using holy water. The temple dates back to the 10th century and is dedicated to the god Vishnu. Legend has it that during a battle, the army of the god Indra was poisoned, so he struck his spear into the ground, and the water that gushed out revived all his warriors. Since then, the springs have been considered to bring longevity and prosperity. At Gunung Kawi Sebatu temple, also dedicated to the god Vishnu and dating back to the 13th-15th centuries, you can fully enjoy the tranquility and peace of this beautiful corner of the island. Here, too, are sacred springs, which, according to legend, were created by Vishnu himself to give life and protection to warriors fighting evil in his honor.

WHITE WATER RAFTING ON THE MOUNTAIN RIVER Is it possible to combine an extreme adventure with the contemplation of nature’s beauty? Absolutely, if you embark on a rafting trip down the beautiful Ayung River, which flows into the Indian Ocean through the pristine jungles of Ubud. Under the vigilant supervision of an experienced instructor, you will explore the banks of this most picturesque Balinese river. The alternation of turbulent rapids and calm flows will allow you to enjoy the lush beauty of the Balinese jungle, where flexible vines envelop sheer cliffs, cool waterfalls cascade down mountain slopes, and colorful parrots and exotic butterflies fly right above your head. At the end of the journey, you will be offered lunch and a hot shower, and you will also have the opportunity to purchase a photo taken by a professional photographer during the rafting experience.

calmness, a boost of energy, vitality, and freshness. The most popular elements of the procedures:

Balinese Massage - A combination of deep pressure, light stretches, and acupressure using essential oils to stimulate the flow of blood circulation, oxygen, and lymph throughout the body. This brings deep relaxation, a sense of well-being, calmness, a boost of energy, vitality, and freshness. Specially selected oil can accelerate the process of weight loss and toxin removal. Seaweed Wrap - Cleanses the skin and removes toxins. The skin absorbs beneficial minerals necessary for revitalization and toning. These minerals also help break down subcutaneous fat deposits, creating an «orange peel» effect, and helping the skin look healthy, smooth, and fresh. Massage with Hot Herbal Compresses - A massage that brings extraordinary relaxation by warming the body with hot herbal compresses. It also helps the body relieve accumulated stress and fatigue, improves blood and lymph circulation, and alleviates muscle and joint pain. Hot Stone Massage - The heat from the stones will relieve you of muscle spasms, tension, and pain. Hot stone massage combines thermotherapy and stone gliding to create a deeply relaxing and therapeutic procedure. The heat from the stones warms the skin, ensuring deep penetration of the oil while relaxing the muscles so the therapist can massage your body more deeply. Shirodhara - After a special Shirodhara massage, a warm stream of oil, chosen specifically for you, will massage the so-called «third eye» - one of the chakras located between the eyebrows. This creates a relaxing effect, helping to relieve tension, stress, anxiety, and depression.

DIVING IN BALI

DIVING IN BALI Bali offers not only beautiful landscapes, ancient culture, friendly people, and secluded beaches but also a diverse and vibrant marine life. For all divers and adventure enthusiasts, we invite you to dive into this mysterious world. Colonies of hard and soft corals, a huge variety of fish species from the Indian and Pacific Oceans, such as giant manta rays, reef and whale sharks, and the magnificent Mola-Mola or sunfish – all this and more can be seen in the coastal waters of Bali and its surroundings. For diving and snorkeling, we recommend the following locations: TULAMBEN BAY Tulamben is located in the northeast of the island. It is a small bay situated on a rocky beach at the foot of Mount Agung. Tulamben offers an outstanding variety of marine life, tuna colonies, the remains of a 120-meter shipwreck, and a beautiful coral reef for diving enthusiasts. Visibility in the waters of Tulamben ranges from 12 to 15 meters. All dive sites are suitable for beginner divers, for dive courses, as well as for snorkeling and uncertified divers. NUSA PENIDA AND NEIGHBORING ISLANDS Nusa Penida is one of Bali’s «sister» islands, located southeast, about 35 minutes by speedboat. The Nusa Penida area boasts more than 8 dive sites (all dives are boat dives, with possible drift dives). Visibility ranges from 15 to 40 meters but can change due to periodically strong currents. Off the coast of Nusa Penida, you can encounter Mola-Mola or sunfish (season from August to November), giant manta rays, sharks, and on the steep coral reefs and coral colonies, you can find sea turtles, lionfish, and colorful schools of coral fish. Some dive sites are suitable for beginner divers and snorkeling, as well as for dive courses and uncertified divers, while others are recommended for experienced divers. PADANG BAI BAY Padang Bai Bay is located on the east coast of Bali. All dives at this location are conducted from a boat. Drift diving and dives to coral reefs are possible. Visibility ranges from 15 to 30 meters, with possible strong and weak currents. Marine life includes reef sharks, scorpionfish, and many others. Some dive sites are suitable for beginners, while others are recommended only for experienced divers. MENJANGAN ISLAND Menjangan is a small island located in the northwest between Bali and Java. The island is part of the Bali Barat National Park. Most dives at this location are conducted from a boat, with visibility ranging from 15 to 30 meters and possible currents. Marine life around Menjangan Island includes barracuda, turtles, tuna colonies, and rays. Combined dive tours with accommodation in an eco-hotel located in the monsoon forest of the National Park are possible.

WEDDING IN BALI

WEDDING IN BALI It is believed that families united in marriage in Bali are the strongest, and that wedding ceremonies here are among the most beautiful. The rituals performed by the newlyweds during the ceremony bring prosperity, wealth, and love to the family. A Balinese wedding ceremony in one of the royal palaces of Tabanan offers the opportunity to feel like royalty and engage in the mysterious rituals performed for the happy life of the couple. Preparations for the ceremony begin with the ritual of dressing in traditional attire and applying makeup. The young couple is then taken to the beginning of the ceremony. This is truly a memorable spectacle, as all the villagers gather on the streets to participate in the colorful procession. The newlyweds are transported on a chariot to the temple entrance, accompanied by Balinese girls and women, as well as a traditional orchestra playing festive music appropriate for the occasion. The ceremony starts at the temple gates, where a purification ritual will be performed over the couple to rid them of evil spirits before entering the sacred place. The newlyweds will then be seated in special chairs to undergo further stages of the ceremony. Signing the certificate, exchanging rings, and a shower of flower petals will complete the ceremonial rites. After the photo session, the couple will enjoy a traditional Balinese dinner and various performances. Another equally colorful ceremony is held in the central part of the island — Ubud, which has long been considered one of the most beautiful places on the island. Preparations for the ceremony begin with the ritual of dressing in traditional attire and applying makeup. Then, two girls in Balinese attire will escort the newlyweds to a palanquin, on which they, like Balinese royalty, will be carried by villagers to the ceremony site. The procession will be led by Balinese youths with ceremonial umbrellas, dancers, and an orchestra playing traditional melodies on unique Balinese instruments. After the couple is seated in special chairs, Balinese girls will greet them with a traditional dance. Then the ceremony itself will begin, during which the newlyweds will purify their bodies, souls, and minds to unite in a sacred bond. They will also pray with the priest for blessings of prosperity, wealth, and love. Signing the certificate, exchanging rings, and the traditional feeding of each other with rice cakes will complete the ceremonial rites. A shower of flower petals will rain down on the couple as they leave the temple, followed by a traditional dinner

and dance performances. Beach Wedding Ceremony

A beach wedding ceremony, simple yet very beautiful, is held on the shores of Jimbaran. For this special occasion, a floral arch will be erected, under which the newlyweds will exchange vows of love and fidelity in the light of the setting sun. The priest will read prayers and bless the union of two loving hearts, the couple will say their «I Do» and exchange rings. This will be followed by a shower of flower petals as a congratulation, glasses of Balinese sparkling wine for the first toast, and a photoshoot that will leave a beautiful album and a disc with many pictures of the happy couple. A grilled seafood dinner, prepared in the traditional way, will conclude this wonderful celebration for the two.

Island of Flores - Komodo Island Discover a new side of Indonesia - spend a few delightful days on the island of Flores with its secluded white sandy beaches, coral gardens, and amazing underwater world. Embark on an exciting journey to Komodo Island with its giant lizards and beautiful flora and fauna. We offer you various travel options to these islands. Tour to Komodo Island via Labuan Bajo (3 days / 2 nights) Upon arrival at Labuan Bajo airport, you will be met by an English-speaking guide and taken to your hotel. After checking into the hotel, you will head to a local restaurant for lunch, followed by a visit to the cave of stalactites and stalagmites known as the «Mirror Cave.» After exploring the cave, you can enjoy a magnificent sunset at Puncak Waringin, and then return to the hotel for dinner and relaxation.

It is believed that the name Borobudur comes from «Vihara Buddha Uhr,» which in Sanskrit means «Buddhist Monastery on the Hill.» This temple was built in the 8th century by the Sailendra dynasty and is located 90 km southeast of Semarang and 42 km northwest of Yogyakarta. Borobudur is one of the most famous temples in the world, majestically rising on a hill overlooking lush green fields and distant hills. The temple is constructed from gray stone and consists of seven terraces, each smaller than the previous one. The walls of Borobudur are adorned with a total of 6 km of bas-reliefs, which are considered the largest and most complete ensemble of Buddhist reliefs in the world, with each scene being a masterpiece. The temple was fully restored and officially reopened on February 23, 1983. Kraton The Sultan’s Palace is located in the center of the city, with its grounds, courtyards, and buildings aligned from north to south in accordance with the position of Mount Merapi. Visitors first pass through the hall for official meetings, then proceed to the hall where the Sultan receives guests. The palace has retained the atmosphere of bygone days thanks to traditional Javanese orchestras, antiques, and family heirlooms that adorn it. Water Palace To the west of the Kraton lie the ruins, ponds, arches, and underground galleries of the Water Palace, which once served for pleasure and entertainment. The Water Palace is located in the old part of the city, near the bird market. On the way, you can visit one of the batik workshops.

The next day, early in the morning after breakfast, you will embark on a journey with your guide on a traditional wooden boat to Komodo Island (or Rinca, depending on the weather and ocean conditions). The trip takes about 3 hours. Along the way, you can photograph picturesque landscapes and small islands. Upon arrival on the island, you will take a guided walk accompanied by National Park staff. During the walk, you will have the opportunity to observe Komodo dragons and other island wildlife in their natural habitat. Never leave the designated path during the walk and strictly follow the guide’s instructions. Remember that Komodo dragons are fierce predators, and their bite is deadly to humans and animals. After the walk, you will head to Pink Beach, located near Komodo Island. The remnants of white and red corals have blended together, giving the sand an unusual pink hue. Equipped with a mask and snorkel, you can admire the colorful fish and live corals (the Pink Beach excursion is not included if you visit Rinca Island). After snorkeling at Pink Beach, you will have lunch on board the boat and then return to Flores. You can have dinner and relax at the hotel. The next day after breakfast, your guide will pick you up to take you to the airport. * The presented program is subject to change without prior notice due to circumstances beyond our control. **In Komodo National Park, there is a fee for the use of photo and video cameras. Please check the cost when booking the tour.

Prambanan Temple The name of this magnificent Hindu temple comes from the village where it is located, 17 km east of Yogyakarta. Locals know it as Loro Jongrang Temple, which means «Temple of the Slender Maiden.» It is the most majestic and beautiful Hindu temple in Indonesia. Legend has it that the temple was built by King Balitung Maha Sambu in the mid-9th century. The bas- reliefs of the temple depict the famous legend of the Ramayana. The temple has 8 shrines, three of which are dedicated to the gods Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma. The main temple of Shiva rises to 40 meters and contains a statue of Durga inside.

Gili Islands Located to the northwest of Lombok, the Gili Islands are three coral atolls with white sandy beaches, crystal-clear turquoise lagoons, breathtaking sunsets, and panoramic views of Mount Agung. Gili Trawangan Island is 20 miles northeast of Bali. The climate on the Gili Islands is significantly drier and hotter than on Lombok, but evenings can be cool and refreshing. The rainy season on Gili lasts from November to April, but rainfall during this period is significantly less than on Bali.

Kalimantan Island The culture and nature of Kalimantan (Borneo) attract many travelers from around the world. The most popular adventure for tourists arriving in Balikpapan or Samarinda is a journey along the Mahakam River, offering stunning sights such as wild orchids hanging over the water, Proboscis monkeys, orangutans, crocodiles, leopards, crab-eating macaques, and giant butterflies. Those wishing to see the world-famous orangutan park should start their journey from Banjarmasin. Diving in Borneo is simply spectacular. In short, it has everything for

relaxation, adventure, and new experiences. We offer you the following cruise programs: River Cruise (3 days / 2 nights)

Upon arrival at Palangkaraya airport, you will immediately head with your guide to the Rahai’i Pangun vessel. The cruise begins from the port of Palangkaraya, heading down the river into the pristine jungle. The route passes through stilt villages along the riverbanks, jungles, and small islands where you can see families of orangutans. After an afternoon tea on board the ship, you will take a canoe to explore the coastal jungle, where you may encounter Proboscis monkeys and hornbills. Upon returning, you will enjoy dinner and relax on board the ship. Early in the morning, the Rahai’i Pangun will arrive at Tumbang Tahai and anchor near the neighboring island of Palas. Palas Island is known as a place where orangutans are released after rehabilitation. After breakfast, you will go for a walk on the Tangling Hills and to the sacred Batu Banama stone, a place believed to be inhabited by spirits (or take an easier route through the hills to a Catholic monastery). Optionally, you can visit the Orangutan Rehabilitation Center for an additional fee and learn more about the rehabilitation program. After lunch on board the boat, you will head downriver to Bukit Rawi. Here, you will get to know the culture and lifestyle of the Dayak people, see a sandung (a sarcophagus with the remains of ancestors), and after dinner, attend a traditional performance in a longhouse – the traditional longhouse of the Dayaks. The next morning, the Rahai’i Pangun will return to Palangkaraya. Upon arrival, you will have a city tour and visit a traditional market if there is time. Then, you will be transferred to the airport.

Gili Trawangan Gili Trawangan is the largest of the three Gili Islands. It rises significantly above sea level. The 3 by 2 kilometer island has several hotels, resorts, and restaurants. Over the past two years, an increasing number of tourists have been staying on Gili Trawangan. The most populated part of the island is the eastern side. On Gili Trawangan, as well as on the other two Gili Islands – Meno and Air, there are no motorized vehicles. Locals get around by bicycle or by cidomo – horse-drawn carriages. You can reach the Gilis by motorboats that depart daily from the harbors of Bali and Lombok. The white sandy beaches, picturesque landscapes, and beautiful underwater world attract tourists from all over the world to these tiny islands. Combined tours with accommodation on both Bali and Gili Trawangan offer a great opportunity for diving, snorkeling, cruises, and fishing enthusiasts. The Gili Islands have already become quite popular among both beginner and experienced divers. The waters around the three islands boast about 18 dive sites with varying topography (steep reefs, coral walls, canyons) and an outstanding diversity of marine life. Here you can find blacktip and whitetip reef sharks, various sea turtles, lionfish, scorpionfish, octopuses, moray eels, sea snakes, several types of rays, and numerous coral colonies where you may encounter parrotfish and occasionally even a whale shark. The Gaan Reef, located near Gili Air, is particularly popular among underwater enthusiasts due to its abundance of frogfish, pink-fin scorpionfish, seahorses, octopuses, and other creatures rarely seen elsewhere.
