DIVING IN BALI

DIVING IN BALI Bali offers not only beautiful landscapes, ancient culture, friendly people, and secluded beaches but also a diverse and vibrant marine life. For all divers and adventure enthusiasts, we invite you to dive into this mysterious world. Colonies of hard and soft corals, a huge variety of fish species from the Indian and Pacific Oceans, such as giant manta rays, reef and whale sharks, and the magnificent Mola-Mola or sunfish – all this and more can be seen in the coastal waters of Bali and its surroundings. For diving and snorkeling, we recommend the following locations: TULAMBEN BAY Tulamben is located in the northeast of the island. It is a small bay situated on a rocky beach at the foot of Mount Agung. Tulamben offers an outstanding variety of marine life, tuna colonies, the remains of a 120-meter shipwreck, and a beautiful coral reef for diving enthusiasts. Visibility in the waters of Tulamben ranges from 12 to 15 meters. All dive sites are suitable for beginner divers, for dive courses, as well as for snorkeling and uncertified divers. NUSA PENIDA AND NEIGHBORING ISLANDS Nusa Penida is one of Bali’s «sister» islands, located southeast, about 35 minutes by speedboat. The Nusa Penida area boasts more than 8 dive sites (all dives are boat dives, with possible drift dives). Visibility ranges from 15 to 40 meters but can change due to periodically strong currents. Off the coast of Nusa Penida, you can encounter Mola-Mola or sunfish (season from August to November), giant manta rays, sharks, and on the steep coral reefs and coral colonies, you can find sea turtles, lionfish, and colorful schools of coral fish. Some dive sites are suitable for beginner divers and snorkeling, as well as for dive courses and uncertified divers, while others are recommended for experienced divers. PADANG BAI BAY Padang Bai Bay is located on the east coast of Bali. All dives at this location are conducted from a boat. Drift diving and dives to coral reefs are possible. Visibility ranges from 15 to 30 meters, with possible strong and weak currents. Marine life includes reef sharks, scorpionfish, and many others. Some dive sites are suitable for beginners, while others are recommended only for experienced divers. MENJANGAN ISLAND Menjangan is a small island located in the northwest between Bali and Java. The island is part of the Bali Barat National Park. Most dives at this location are conducted from a boat, with visibility ranging from 15 to 30 meters and possible currents. Marine life around Menjangan Island includes barracuda, turtles, tuna colonies, and rays. Combined dive tours with accommodation in an eco-hotel located in the monsoon forest of the National Park are possible.
