Assembly, headed by a President elected for a 5-year term. The House of Representatives consists of elected politicians, each representing at least 40,000 residents of the country. CLIMATE OF INDONESIA Indonesia has a tropical climate with temperatures ranging from 21°C to 33°C. In mountainous regions, temperatures can be cooler. The climate can be roughly divided into two seasons: wet and dry, influenced by monsoon winds that bring either moist or dry air masses to the islands. However, in many parts of the country, differences between seasons may not be very noticeable due to constant heat and high humidity. Typically, the rainy season lasts from November to April, with the wettest months being January and February, and the dry season from May to October. However, in northern Sumatra and central and northern parts of Maluku, seasons may be reversed. Additionally, each island may have its own microclimate, further complicating the picture. HEALTH For entry into Indonesia, vaccinations are not required.

If you plan an extended trip involving travels and visits to less developed tourist zones, especially outside Bali and Java, consider getting the following vaccinations: typhoid, hepatitis A and B, tetanus, polio, rabies, Japanese encephalitis, diphtheria, and tuberculosis. In Russia, some of these vaccinations are mandatory and administered from childhood. Malaria vaccinations may be necessary in certain areas of Indonesia. The most common illness when visiting Indonesia is stomach upset. Drink only bottled water and avoid unfamiliar food. If you experience diarrhea, avoid spicy and fatty foods, alcohol, coffee, milk, and fruits. Consume young coconut, toast, rice, bananas, and noodles. Prevent dehydration by drinking plenty of fluids. The sun has a strong effect on the skin; beware of sunburns and use sunscreen. CURRENCY The currency of Indonesia is the Indonesian Rupiah. The exchange rate against the dollar fluctuates frequently; check with your agency before your trip.
