King's Business - 1919-11

THE K I N G ’ S B U S I N E S S membership of a hundred and fifty, now reduced to four! Truly, the only thing which will keep Christians in these days is the daily walk with God and feeding on His Word. When Christians do not know their Bibles, false teachers ■ find these easy victims. Our tract boxes are well patronized. We have twenty-five of them at various points in the fields, and these do busi ness for God day and night. v More and more we feel the need of prayer, and like Habbakuk, we cry “O Lord, revive thy work.” Our responsi bilities increase as the way opens up, and we truly desire that we may be faithful to Him who has called us by His grace.—Frank J. Shelley.

1013 The other group is a sample of a crowd of men and children reached in our out-of-door services. This is but one-third of the crowd we preached to recently. You will notice in the corner of the picture, a group of men sitting on the ground, gambling. This is the way we find the men in camps, gambling their money away. One will scarcely ever see them reading a book or paper, but wherever there is a group there is always a leader gambler who will in duce them to play and put out their money, which results in his carrying it nil away with him. We talked with her and directed her to put her trust only in the Lord Jesus, after which in union with four other Christians, we prayed with and for her and they, as is their custom, repeated our prayers. Then she would get out of bed and kneel at the chair and take our hand and place it on her head. We surely felt that if the Lord were there in person, He would have compassion on her. As we committed her to Him in prayer we believed He would hear and answer prayer. Two weeks later on returning and inquiring about her we were informed that the Lord had healed her and that her husband had taken her up north to visit her brother. To God be all the glory. Another cause of rejoicing is the fact that the converts are not ashamed to
