THE K I NG ' S B U S I N E S S want to remember. His name was Jere miah, and he had a very hard time be cause in those days long ago when he lived, the people of God were not liv ing in the way that God wanted them to live, for they were dishonest and un truthful with each other, and would be come very angry and even kill each other. They worshipped the idols of the heathen people, and did everything wrong. You know that is just the way with people today that do not follow after God and do the things He has asked them to do in the Bible, which is His word. As God looked down upon these people and saw how sinful they were, it made His heart sad, and He thought of His faithful preacher, Jere miah, so God told Jeremiah to go to these people, and tell them of their awful sinful life, and tell them of God and how they were forgetting Him and wan dering far away from Him, and that if they did not come back to God and follow Him their enemies would soon come in and take their city and carry them away as prisoners. Now boys and girls do you think this was a very easy thing for the dear old preacher Jeremiah to do? No, it was very hard to go to these people and tell them of their wrong doings, and Jeremiah felt timid and knew just how the wicked people would make fun of him, but he was faithful, and he knew that God and the angels were on his side, even though he could not see them, so he went bravely forth and took the message of God to the people. One of the sins of these people was drinking wine. Now there w:ere some people living among these people who had promised their fathers they would never drink strong drink, hut that had been a long time ago, so Jeremiah gave them a hard test. He placed plenty of wine before these people and what do you think they did? They said, “We will drink no wine.” They kept their promise to their fathers,
