There’s a perfect process for every project, but knowing the difference is key. And whichever dyeing technique you choose, each item undergoes our signature garment dyed process, ensuring soft comfort and almost no shrinkage.

When these garments react to the dye absorbed into their yarn, it ensures they maintain their traditional dyed look, wash after wash. It’s this direct/reactive process that gives these Comfort Colors ® garments their signature vivid colors, vibrant hues and long-lasting color-fastness. Direct/reactive tees are also sure to keep their great softness and shape, as well as color reliability, for the life of the style.

As the original pigment-dye company, Comfort Colors® has been innovating and perfecting the pigment-dye process for over 45 years. In this unique method, dye molecules bind to the fabric to give an iconic, faded look. This process also has less impact on the environment due to our innovative Clean Pigment Dye process*. This creates a garment that’s cozy from the second you put it on and will only keep getting softer every time you wear it. Celebrate the awe-inspiring colors of nature, from weathered tones to striking shades, with cozy pigment-dyed tees.

With their wide variety of color concentrations and textures, Color Blast dyed garments are a fresh take on the classic pigment dyeing method. In this process, each tee is sprayed with dye rather than being immersed in a dye bath, which gives each product a unique look. Pigment spray tees don't shrink or lose their shape, making them guaranteed favorites for years to come.

DECORATING TECHNIQUES

Screen Printing This is the most popular and widespread decorating technique, since it is most suited to larger runs and it is economical in cost. There are a variety of inks which can be used to garner different end results, and there are also a few different applications. These include silk screen

Heat Transfer This technique uses high heat and pressure in order to transfer your pre-cut design on to your shirt. With a wide variety of material options available like solid colors, glitter, foil, laser cut, neon and reflective materials, your designs can be as bright and bold as you wish! This technique is great for smaller runs and quicker turnaround times.

Direct to Garment This is a wonderful way to show off your creations with great detail, and is also perfect for smaller runs of select prints. A DTG project can look similar to a screen print, but offers the ability for more colors and sharper lines so that your design can really come to life, and the inks used in these machines are water based.

Mixed Techniques These can include a blend of just about any of the decorating techniques out there. Pairing screen printing with embroidery, heat transfer with DTG printing, or screen printing and DTG can really lend a unique and creative flair to any of your Comfort Colors® projects! This is a great way to make your designs stand out with a little something special.
