In today’s fast-paced world, it seems everyone is in a hurry. But speeding through Florida’s highways can lead to devastating results. Recently, several serious accidents occurred because drivers weren’t paying attention. They were distracted by prepping for the hurricanes or texting behind the wheel. The outcome? Lives changed forever in just a split second. As a personal injury attorney, I see these cases far too often. These accidents are 100% preventable. Our firm is proud to represent many military veterans as clients, and we also have friends in the biker community who have been injured in accidents. We know these guys are out there not only because they love to ride, but because they want to support worthy causes. In recognition of November as National Veterans and Military Families Month, this is a good time to show support for military spouses, children, and other relatives. As lawyers, we feel an obligation to give back to the community. One of the things we want to ensure is that every child has a present to open on Christmas morning. That’s why DLG sponsors the Octoberfest celebration of the Patriot Riders of America, a volunteer organization that helps veterans and families of deceased soldiers. Proceeds from the group’s annual community festival support the Patriot Riders’ toy drive for needy kids. We also are big supporters of the Marine Corps Reserves’ Toys for Tots program, a major drive closer to the holidays. Now that our son Nick is attending the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, we have become a military family too, and it’s very important to us to back these causes.
