Touring holidays are so much more than just the final destination. They’re the wondrous sights you see, the unexpected journeys you take and the unique people you meet along the way.
With an expert tour guide there to take you behind the tourist veil of your destination and into its heart and soul, you’ll be effortlessly transported, expertly guided and given recommendations you know you can trust. An exciting and immersive way to explore new places, cultures, and experiences; whether you’re traveling by car, bus, train, cruise, or even on foot, tours offer a unique way to see the world up close and personal.
But how do you choose the right tour and make sure the whole experience is as wondrous as it can be? There are so many tours all around the world offering such a variety of experiences that it’s hard to know where to start, especially if you’re booking your first tour. Here are some of our top tips to consider to help you pick the right tour for you and make the most of your time once you’re away.
Read the itineraries There are various types of touring holidays, ranging from cultural and historical tours to adventure and wildlife-focused tours. Pick a tour that aligns with your interests, travel style, and comfort level. The best way to do this is reading the itineraries. All the information you need to help decide whether this is the right tour for you will be there- the destinations you’ll be visiting, what’s included in the tour package, and the overall pace and vibe of the tour.
Consider group size Some tours have larger group sizes, while others offer a more intimate feel. Take some time and think about whether you would prefer a more social experience with a larger group or a more personalized journey with a smaller group.
Health and fitness level Every tour is different. From scaling mammoth mountains to tasting your way through sunny European gems, there is a tour for it. So, its important to consider the physical demands of the journey you wish to take. Some tours involve a lot of walking, hiking, or other physical activities. Choose a tour that matches your fitness preferences.

Touring holidays provide the opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds and cultures so stay open-minded and be ready to embrace new experiences and perspectives. Everyone is here to make amazing memories so don’t hesitate to ask questions and get stuck into your destination.
Document your journey You don’t have to be tech-savvy or use social media to appreciate the joys of documenting your journey. Capturing your experiences through photos, videos, or a travel journal is a great idea. These mementos will help you remember every detail of your unforgettable adventure.
Relax and enjoy Touring holidays are a great way to make the most out of your time and really get stuck into a destination.
