APPENDIX VII: OPEN SURVEY & BRIEF ON-SITE QUESTIONNAIRE RESULTS NAPERVILLE PARK DISTRICT INDOOR RECREATION SPACE NEEDS ASSESSMENT
PARK DISTRICT PERFORMANCE AND VALUE The open public survey regarding the overall performance and value of indoor recreational facilities revealed a mixed response (Figure 9) : only 17% of respondents strongly agree or agree that there are enough facilities, while almost two- thirds of respondents (64%) reported there are insufficient facilities within the Naperville Park District system. This disparity indicates the need for additional recreation facilities to better meet community demands. Fifty-six percent of respondents agreed that they are satisfied with recreational and parks opportunities provided by the Park District. Around 94% agree that parks and recreation is important to their quality of life and results indicated strong agreement (88%) that the Naperville Park District enhances the community’s sense of community. Regarding staff, 88% of respondents agreed that staff are courteous and helpful. While 74% agree that the Naperville Park District programs/services are a good value. More than half (55%) of respondents agreed that the Naperville Park District is responsive to community need, though 15% of respondents disagreed. The majority of respondents (58%) agreed that the Naperville Park District marketing is effective. On the safety front, the Naperville Park District scores highly, with 94% of respondents feeling safe while using the facilities and parks.
