THE EXTENT TO WHICH PROGRAM NEEDS ARE MET The largest unmet need reported is for an indoor pool and aquatics with 82% of respondents who indicated this need within the Naperville Park District (Figure 15). One-third (33%) of respondents indicated a need for drop-in arts/crafts/hobby (youth) programs, 26% of respondents indicated a need for additional fitness and wellness programs, and another 26% of respondents indicated a need for indoor sports/athletics programs. Environmental and Nature programs, early childhood programs, active adult/senior programs (ages 60+), adult (ages 18-59), youth (ages 5-17), and e-sports/gaming programs all had apparent unmet needs, ranging from 8%-23% of respondents indicating unmet needs for these program types (Figure 15). Respondents also wrote in suggestions which included more indoor sports facilities (N=30) for pickleball, tennis, lacrosse, and more indoor play areas for young children. Twenty-nine respondents called for an indoor aquatic facility, and several others suggested more arts, hobbies and craft programs along with more space and programs offered by WDSRA Figure 15.
