197 We have competitive swimmers and there is no indoor facility for them, other than the Y which is not a dedicated facility for swimming. We just moved into our house September of 2023 and we are looking for facilities with a pool. The main reason my family does not utilize the Fort Hill Activity Center is because of the location. We will love in southeast Naperville and Fort Hill is located 20 mins from our house. If there was a similar facility within 10 minutes, we would use it regularly. Need a facility in southeast Naperville. Lack of Indoor Aquatics (N = 4) My daughter swims competitively year-round. The NPD doesn’t have a pool. She attends her club swim practices at Metea and NCHS and NNHS. For a gym, my husband goes to Seven Bridges because of the yoga schedule. Family Aging Out of Programs (N = 4) When our children were younger, we used all the park district programs. Now our children are young adults, so the facilities and programs don't apply to us. We are 52 and 57 years. Alfred Rubin, we have used for specific NPD programs like preschool, ballet, bingo, and craft classes and community meeting space, we just have not done those in the past 12 months largely because my kids are a little older and not using those programs. We all go to Fort Hill, but our child is 21, at school, and thus not doing Park district activities anymore. When she was younger, she used the NPD a lot. Our children are now in college, so we don’t utilize the park district as often. Lack of nearby facilities (N = 4) I have heard wonderful things about the Fort Hill facility, but I live in South Naperville and I am not willing to make the drive to Fort Hill. I hear good things about Fort Hill but I am not willing to travel to north Naperville. I think South Naperville deserves to have a similar facility. FYI, I belonged to the 95th Street Y for many years and always enjoyed the classes and amenities they offered, unfortunately after the COVID pandemic their selection of classes drastically changed (namely the Les Mills’s class offerings) and I gave up my membership. I understand from friends who are members of the Fort Hill facility that many of the instructors as well as the Les Mills offerings are at the Fort Hill facility.
