Question 2b. Explain Poor, Fair or Good Ratings

Responses (# of responses) School Facilities are Poor/Dated (N = 10) Schools need better cleaning scores (fair). School Gym quality varies. Some gyms need updating.

Swimming is huge for our family and community. We are limited to using our high school facilities. Sometimes the locker rooms are not great. It would be amazing to have a long course pool similar to FMC in our community. The school facilities aren’t as nice as the park district ones. School facilities are poor. Old, unsafe, lack bathrooms to meet kid and adult needs appropriately or legally, lighting poor, parking lot access unlit and dangerous. School setting is not great with carpet for courts and sharing space in Brookdale gym. School facilities vary but are fine. Dirty floors in school facilities. School facilities are adequate, but not excellent. Schools can be updated. The few schools I have been to are a throwback to a previous era. They need to be updated Old/Worn Park District Facilities (N = 7) I feel like improvements to the overall playground, and courts need updated. The roller hockey rink is in bad shape. The facilities could always be updated. Sportsman’s Park clubhouse is dated, and functional, but not particularly comfortable. The facilities need be updated to more recent technology, sitting areas can be improved and general information sharing is not showcased (i.e. directory of activities for the day and location). Fort Hill Fitness Center, for being a somewhat new facility, it is not as up to date as I would expect. Not up to modern standards. Feels outdated, private facilities and programs cost the same or marginally more than park district for the better programs.
