INSIGHTS: CONDITION, UPKEEP AND CLEANLINESS OF FACILITIES According to residents’ ratings, they provided three major reasons for lower facility ratings, as described below. SCHOOL FACILITIES ARE POOR / DATED The majority of the respondents expressed that school facilities seem worn out and that they need updating. They mentioned dirty floors, a lack of bathrooms, and poor lighting. WORN / OUTDATED PARK DISTRICT FACILITIES Only a few respondents mentioned some Park District facilities were worn or outdated. According to respondents, the facilities are functional, but they could be more comfortable. Respondents mentioned the outdoor hockey rink, Sportsman’s Park Clubhouse, and sitting areas at Fort Hill Activity Center specifically. ENVIRONMENT AND CLEANLINESS Very few residents mentioned the lack of cleanliness in NPD facilities and all other comments were related to environment issues such as noise and poor lighting.
