CHAPTER SEVEN • COMMUNITY SURVEY NAPERVILLE PARK DISTRICT INDOOR RECREATION SPACE NEEDS ASSESSMENT
Regarding the adequacy of indoor recreational facilities, (Figure 9) the survey indicates a mixed response: only 22% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed that there are enough facilities, while a substantial 42% reported insufficient facilities within NPD. This disparity indicates the need for additional recreation facilities to better meet community demands. Satisfaction with recreational opportunities is relatively high, as 62% of respondents agreed they are satisfied. Eighty-seven percent agreed that parks and recreation is important to their quality of life and results indicated strong agreement (82%) that NPD enhances a sense of community. Regarding staff, 77% of respondents agreed that staff are courteous and helpful, while 64% agreed that NPD programs/services are a good value. Thirty percent indicated they were undecided about the value, likely because they have not engaged with programs/services. Almost two-thirds (59%) of respondents agreed that NPD is responsive to community need and only 10% disagreed. The majority of respondents (51%) agreed NPD marketing is effective, while 19% disagreed, and 31% of respondents remained undecided. Safety is a high point for NPD, as 86% of respondents reported feeling safe using the facilities and parks. PARK DISTRICT PERFORMANCE & VALUE
