ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK After analyzing the additional thoughts of respondents, nine themes were identified. APPRECIATION
PROGRAMMING SUGGESTIONS A few respondents suggested programs like kids’ entertainment, yoga, park district hockey league, summer camps, daycare, and craft classes. PROGRAM COST ISSUES Respondents commented that program costs are expensive and can be unaffordable to the community. NEED BETTER FACILITY MAINTENANCE Respondents stated that bike trails, golf courses, and basketball courts need to be well-maintained. INFRASTRUCTURE SUGGESTIONS Respondents suggested a playground for kids, a pickleball facility, the removal of Sportsman’s Park from its current location, and indoor turf space for soccer and flag football. MORE PROGRAMS Given the large geographical area covered by Naperville, residents like to have more programs in the north and south of the City.
Most of the respondents appreciated the staff in their final thoughts on the survey. They expressed their gratitude for doing an amazing job in the Park District. “NPD is phenomenal, and we are lucky to have them. The staff has always been great to work with,” was one respondent’s comment. The respondents appreciated staff’s responsiveness and helpfulness, as well as the variety of programs the Park District offers to the community. POOL Many respondents stated the need for an indoor pool with low-cost membership. Some responses highlight a lap pool, water therapy, and water-related activities. A FACILITY IN SOUTH NAPERVILLE Residents in south Naperville requested more facilities on the south side due to the long distance and time to travel. They expressed their appreciation of Fort Hill Activity Center and acknowledged the benefits of having more facilities in the south. The distance to Fort Hill is a problem for residents on the south side. WALKING TRAILS/TRACKS Residents like to have longer walking tracks and indoor jogging facilities during winter times.
