FACILITY CAPACITY ANALYSIS
An ideal benchmark for recreation facility use capacity is essential for a variety of reasons including efficient resource allocation, user safety and satisfaction, enhanced experiences, sustainability, and data-driven planning. The ideal benchmark for facilities like the Fort Hill Activity Center is 70%. The industry standard is essential to determining prime- time and non-prime time use by analyzing the actual times the facility is used at any time of day according to building visitation data, which includes program participation numbers for each activity zone.

GYMNASIUM The analysis of the indoor gymnasium schedule shows that the most common programs offered include adult basketball, youth basketball, family basketball, volleyball, and pickleball. Programs also include open gym opportunities. Adult Basketball sessions are the most frequent, occurring daily, and primarily in the early mornings and evenings. Youth Basketball sessions are consistently scheduled in the afternoons year-round. Family Basketball is held mostly in the early mornings and late afternoons throughout the week. Volleyball is scheduled in the evenings from Monday to Thursday, while pickleball takes place regularly in the mornings and late evenings. Additionally, based on program data provided by Naperville Park District staff, the bar graphs to the left illustrate that the gymnasium is at or above the recommended 70% capacity level for usage throughout the year during the peak times, particularly on weekdays.
