Striking Stories of God’s Workings GATHERED THIS MONTH FROM BIOLA WORKERS

own way, and within a few days of a year she was on her way to her field of Christian service rejoicing in her Lord who is able to bring to pass the impossible.

God’s promise that His word shall not return unto Him void has again been fulfilled, as revealed in the fol lowing stories told by the Bible Institute workers at the October Report Meeting.

The Gospel Among the Jews T HE Jewish Department emphasizes personal evan gelism, for the personal touch will lead to an ac ceptance of Jesus Christ when all other methods fail. A little Jewish boy who has been in the hospital, encased in a cast for about two years, was led to the Lord’.by one of the faithful workers of the department. Recently he was taken home on a visit, and for two, hours, notwithstand ing his extreme agony, he sang songs about J.esus to hi$ unbelieving parents. _ _ j The club meetings for Jewish mothers, girlsj'lipd: boys, at the “Berean Community Center” are well attended. At these meetings the Gospel is presented from the Stand point of the Old Testament, giving the workers an oppor tunity of breaking down age-long prejudice and of meet ing the Jewish people on their own ground. The outlook for the work is very encouraging. —o— Our World-Wide Student Body T HE Lord hath done great things for us, whereof we are * glad.” With these words^ot 'th'e' Fsatmfet, the Director of the Correspondence Courses reports the addi tion of seven new Bible courses, making a total of sixteeii now available. The following statistics are interesting; Almost two thousand members, residing in gractkally every state of the union and in thirty-one foreign coun tries, are at present actively engaged in the study of God’s Word through these systematic and comprehensive courses. Forty-three denomiriatidns and ninety-eight oc cupations are represented by this group. Expressing the benefits of such study, one student writes: _ _' ' . ■' : l!‘y" ’ Our primary purpose in taking the course is,.- to. learn of His plan in order that we may better do His will.,;', . . Your course seems ideal for our purpose and I am sure you will be interested in one feature that is a great satisfaction to each one of us and that is this: At night when wei eaj$t^s»,-;our little family forms a circle, each with his or her own Bible, to read and discuss the lesson and the Scriptures together. This is the one thing we have in common and we have drawn closer to each other because of it. But of course the greatest benefit of all is the instruction and guidance and inspiration we have received. Never before, in all the years we have attended church and Sunday school, have we had such a comprehensive, correlated course of study and such a help to understanding the Great Plan. :—o— God Continues to Bless the Shop Work O N the first day of July,” Mr. Stuchbery reports, “the telephone rang and we were asked to officiate at a meeting to be held in one tif our large railroad shops. They were having a celebration in honor of an aged couple who were celebrating their golden wedding anni-

BIBLE Study Club for high-school girls. These clubs are held all oyer the city and near-by towns on a school day, in a home or church near the school—preferably, a home. At the beginning of the school year one of the clubs met, and we had a heart-to-heart talk, tak ing for our message, John 15 :4, 5: “Abide in me and I in you. A s the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches'. He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fru it : for without me ye can do nothing.” After the message ten girls definitely surrendered their lives and signed cards to this effect. Since then, these girls have been working to bring in the unsaved; two girls have accepted Christ as their personal Saviour, and one girl has taken a further step in the Christian life. She called the teacher over the telephone and said she was to be baptized as she wanted to go all the way with her Saviour. Another girl, recently saved, -said, “Since I accepted Christ as my Saviour I love Sunday, and now I can hardly wait for Tuesday, to be able to come to Euodia, which is like another Sunday in the week.” These are samples of the Holy Spirit’s work in the lives of girls who are facing daily problems, and we praise God for such clubs as Euodia where girls can come and follow our .Lord’s command to “seek ye first the kingdom o f God.” Two Grateful Girls T HE Eighth Annual Summer Conference of the Eteri Clubs was held in July at Camp Bethel, and some souls were saved, many lives surrendered to Christ, and m a n y of the girls returned to their homes with new ideals and new life purposes. These clubs are organized among college girls and business women. The work closes with the school year, but during the summer term at one university, a group of girls each day met for prayer under a selected tree on the campus. These students have a definite experience, an unshaken faith in the Word, and an aggressive spirit and desire to make Him known on the campus. One girl wrote: “I am glad my father insisted on making me go to that university, for it was there, in the Eteri Club, I learned to really know my Lord, and I could never have met this present testing time victoriously had I not learned to know Him.” A business girl, a year ago, after a struggle, took the Life Service Volunteer pledge. A seemingly insurmount able difficulty was in the way, but God worked in His
