JOHN MUIR Growing up in Atlanta, John has been visiting western North Carolina his entire life. Spending summers on the plateau with his parents and grandparents, he developed a deep love for the area. After graduating from Ole Miss with a degree in Real Estate, he moved west to Vail, Colorado. While in Vail, he worked as a fly fishing guide, eventually starting his own outfitting service, as well as working as a property manager for second home owners in the area. With the arrival of their son, Shep, John and his wife, Charlotte, decided to move closer to home and chose the Highlands area. The main draw to the plateau for the Muirs was the quality of life and availability of outdoor recreation this region has to offer, especially fishing opportunities and great hiking along with a great community for raising a family. After moving from Colorado, John decided to put his real estate knowledge to work and got his NC real estate license. He is excited to be a part of the Berkshire Hathaway Meadows Mountain Realty team and looks forward to sharing his passion for the area with his clients. BROKER

on Florida’s Gulf Coast and became a Top 10% Platinum producer with Coldwell Banker Luxury Real Estate. But the mountains were calling him back…. Dave’s first visit to Cashiers was special. It all started when one of his clients had a Cashiers sticker on the back of his Jeep. He told Dave that he had researched the whole country, and he believed Cashiers was the best place anyone could ever live. The client invited Dave and his wife, Robin, to visit him several times. They fell in love with the plateau’s lifestyle - going to festivals and concerts, hiking, exploring waterfalls, and boating on Lake Glenville. Each time Dave visited he loved the area even more, so in 2014 he and Robin purchased a couple of acres and built their own home. They have two beautiful daughters and three grandchildren who love spending time with them there. Their two dogs, Willow, a mini- goldendoodle, and River, a mini-Labradoodle, have also embraced the mountain lifestyle and love to hike and play in the streams. Dave and Robin further cemented their roots in the community when they joined Burlingame Country Club Sapphire in 2019. Since then, they have met some great people and thoroughly enjoy the lifestyle and amenities of the club.
