CELEBRATING OUR 2025 CRUISE WINNER One Lucky Teacher Is Going Cruisin’
Whenever we can, our team at Just Call Moe likes to do something special for the people in our community who make a difference year after year but might not always get the spotlight. That’s why we brought back one of the favorite things we’ve ever done: the Teacher Cruise Contest. We first did this back in 2023 and had a blast. This year, we got over 600 nominations for teachers who deserved a well-earned getaway. This summer, we opened up nominations for our 2025 Teacher Cruise Contest. The contest was open to pre-K through 12th- grade teachers across Florida, and the response was fantastic. We asked for a short essay of around 250 words explaining why a teacher you know deserves a relaxing break at sea. The response was incredible, with nominations from parents, students, family, and coworkers of fantastic teachers. This year’s winner is Bianca Pereyra, a pre-K teacher at Miami Springs Elementary School. Her nomination came from her daughter, Mia. She described her mom as a teacher whose classroom lights up with joy and said she’s someone her students look up to and her coworkers respect. Mia also
shared that despite a recent cancer diagnosis and the surgeries, treatment, and fatigue that come with it, her mom continues to show up for her students every day. On Sept. 4, attorney Moe DeWitt made a special trip to Miami, where he surprised Bianca at her school with the announcement that she had won the cruise. We hope this cruise gives Bianca a chance to rest,
recharge, and enjoy a peaceful escape. To all the teachers who were nominated, thank you for the work you do. You inspire more than you know. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for updates, photos, and more stories from our community.
