HAWKESBURY | Le défenseur des Hawks de Hawkesbury, Jake Roeper, retournera dans son Wisconsin natal la saison pro- chaine, pour s’aligner avec les Vikings de Lawrence University. Il s’agit d’un retour aux sources pour l’an- cien joueur des Highlanders de Homestead, qui a disputé ses deux dernières saisons se- condaires au sein du réseau Wisconsin prep hockey, avant de faire le saut dans le junior A canadien. «Le hockey collégial américain est une option de carrière intéressante pour nos joueurs, peu importe leur nationalité, a indi- qué l’entraîneur-chef des Hawks, Shawn An- derson. Nous travaillons avec eux pur qu’ils puissent faire une décision éclairée selon ce qu’ils désirent accomplir, tant au niveau du hockey qu’au niveau académique.» À sa première saison dans la Ligue cen- trale en 2013-2014, le numéro 24 a disputé 49 parties, dont 16 dans l’uniforme des Rai- ders de Nepean, amassant 14 points et 20 minutes de pénalité. Reis choisit Colby Roeper n’est pas le seul à choisir la voie des collèges américains, puisque le dé- fenseur Andrew Reis quittera également l’organisation des Hawks pour joindre les rangs des Mules de Colby, une université du Connecticut. Tout comme les Vikings de Lawrence, les Mules évoluent dans la division III de la National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). En 56 rencontres dans l’uniforme des Hawks, Reis, un joueur origi- naire de Brantford, a amassé cinq mentions d’aide et a passé 80 minutes au banc des pénalités.
