Word of Life Bible Institute Yearbook 1985

Perth Bible Church

It’s been a great year at Perth — learning to bear each other’s burdens and become a team; learning to be flexible, depending on God as the problems came (remember the unreliable bus in the first quarter?) learn ing the importance of sharing Christ and His blessings in the people that we met, living out the example as well; learning, above all, to place the needs of each other and those of the people and pastors of Perth above our own and receiving the abundant blessings only a servant can receive. He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ! Remember, who shall separate us from the love of Christ? I have only great memories and many praises as I look back over our year on the Perth Ministry. The Lord worked in our lives and challenged us in many ways. At the beginning of the year we had many medical and mechanical problems, but it only showed us the importance of patience, flexibility and team work, (okay, who has the paper bag, now breath in, breath out), seriously, we did really grow very close as a team. Which was very important as we ministered. I feel that the best thing about the Perth ministry was the wide range of different ministries we were exposed to. We often heard, “Who me, work in the nursery, No Way!” but after we worked there, it was great to hear

how the Lord really blessed. That same testimony was heard often from different members of the team. We really learned how important and wonderful it is to rely on the Lord when entering into areas we know nothing about. Many of us had opportunities to teach a Sunday School lesson or do a bus story. (Sometimes with ad vance notice, sometimes not.) It was great to see the Lord work when we relied on Him. I know we will always have fond memories of Satur day Night devotions, the skits we did, working with the bus kids singing: Countdown or Father Abraham for the 10th time, getting our Sunday dress clothes covered with snacks, trying to get keys down from the beams in the gymnasium, the special banquets, conventions and activities we were invited to and all that great home- cooked food and family fellowship we enjoyed when in vited to people’s homes. Thank you for the great year.
