Johnstown Baptist Church

As a March student, I was on the Johnstown weekend ministry for only one quarter, but it was really a valuable and enjoyable experience. It gave me the op portunity to work with nine other people as a team and to get to know them out side of the busy school environment. I guess the thing that had the greatest im pact in my life was watching God work, and seeing how He directs us. The church there is growing, and it was great to see people getting saved and see that their lives have really changed, and that they’re witnessing to others. It’s been a real privilege to be with these people, and to let God use me in helping them grow, and in working with the youth group. Proverbs 16:9 says, “A man’s heart deviseth his way, but the Lord directeth his steps.” I’ve seen this so clearly in the things we did, and the peo ple He put me with at Johnstown. I didn’t think I was doing anything special, but other people would tell me how they could see the Lord using me. I praise Him for helping me, for the people I stayed with, and for the things I learned on this ministry.

Mountain Chapel

The Petersburg Ministry was an ex cellent learning experience but most of all it was a challenge. Every weekend we got the opportunity to put into practice what we learned here at the Bible Institute. It showed me that to be the person I need to be for Christ I have to give everything over to the Lord. And it is only by God’s grace that I keep a pure testimony for Christ. During the weeks spent at Mountain Chapel, God revealed to me the uni queness and scope of the relationship believers have with one another as part of the family of God. The weekends soon proved to be wonderful times of growth, sharing with the members and learning from them. The growth I witnessed there brought joy to my heart and increased my confidence in my Lord and the work He has begun in me. God seems to work out similar things in each of our lives — the major thing seems to be trusting Him at
