Westerlo Baptist Church

Ministry? Our local church was more than a ministry ... it was a family of love. The Lord showed us and taught us so much. Westerlo has a unique youth ministry. We became involved in First Baptist Church and were part of it. We each thank the Lord for putting us there. We were involved in Junior and Senior High Youth groups, Sunday School Classes, Children’s Church, and youth choirs. The Lord brought each of us with a different talent together to form a team. We were able to see so much change taking place in those precious lives. We stayed with different families each week and became part of them. We learned from the lives of the families im portant aspects of living. Youth Pastor Steve Greggo would in volve us as much as any team could be in volved. We could put into practice on the weekends what we had learned during classes. It was a great year and we thank the Lord for this fantastical experience.

Corinth Baptist Church

The weekend ministry at Corinth was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. I’m sure that I can speak for the rest of our group when I say this. The church had a closeness and a love which truly showed us what the love of Jesus Christ really is. Our group as a whole shared in a close unity between us which enabled us to accomplish much for the Lord. One of the exciting ways that we all grew was when we went out on visitation. Being able to in vite people out to church and to share the love of Christ was all new to many of us. Through this we saw many peo ple receive Jesus Christ as their Savior and also saw people restored back into fellowship. One of the greatest motiva tions that we all had was our pastor. He was truly a servant for the Lord and showed us what it really means to be a servant. Some of the more memorable things which took place throughout the year were seeing our prayers answered for a church bus, watching this bus ministry grow, and seeing young people’s lives changed by the power of Jesus Christ in their lives. Also as a leader it was really neat to see the willingness of each member of our weekend ministry when asked to do something. We all had a real servant saint perspective and all grew in Christ as they gave themselves to the Lord. Our group grew in our compassion for the lost and the physical needs of many needy children which at tended the church. We saw a body of believers which had little in the way of material possessions but had a great love for their Savior. Through our year this has enabled all of us to really grow closer to our brothers and sisters in Christ. We can all truly say that we are glad to be a part of the family of God. My ministry this year was “Corinth ”. We had a great team. 1learned a lot about the local church that I never realized before. The motivation, the discipline, and desire to see people saved was the main things for us to see. The best part was the church growth and seeing young teenagers out witnessing and learning right along with our team. It was a stretching ministry but excellent. God really blessed us with wonderful families and friends forever.
