Closest Friends Oh the times we’ve shared together, They are mem’ries that we made. Through the sorrow and the laughter, A foundation we have laid. But it’s hard to see the day’s come, That we have to say goodbye, For our hearts can only cry out While our heads just wonder why. All the days we spent together caused Our hearts to grow as one. Still we have to look ahead because We’ve only just begun. He will change us in a moment, In a twink’ling of an eye. And we’ll never have to wonder If we’ll ever say goodbye. For our homes will be in heaven And we’ll finally be free, And we’ll know the joy of Being closest friends . . . eternally. David M. Poehlein
