Word of Life Bible Institute Yearbook 1995

Paul wrote to the Corinthians, “I am made all things to all men that I might by all means save some.” Preaching Christ is not always done behind the pulpit. Espe cially in the everyday activities of life we, as representatives of the King, must manifest His glory through our living testimonies. Ministering through sports is another means to the end of spreading the gospel message. Its uniqueness stands in between the extremes of OAE and friendship evan gelism. OAE calls only to verbally present the gospel. Friendship evangelism requires time and can be a drawn-out process. The challenge of sports ministry is plac ing your life before an unsaved person and allowing them to see the difference.

“It's great to see people come to the Lord through something that you enjoy, such as soccer. WOLBFs first-ever girls soccer team,

with abilities ranging from skilled to nover

played-before, had a great pioneer season. Although they did not have many games, they saw their sport become a ministry to other soccer players and had opportunities to minister in each other's lives." -Denise HeatWings
