Fall Events Thanksgiving Fiesta & Presidential Banquet

During the 1600’s the pilgrims sailed from England after being persecuted for their belief. They decided to separate themselves from the “motherland” and claim it as their home. They fought the Great Atlantic for many days and nights before they finally fell upon the shores of America. Out of thankfulness to God for arrival to their des tination, they prepared a feast and celebrated it with the native Americans. This became known as Thanksgiving. As we, pilgrims, traverse this path of life through stormy seas, over jagged mountain tops, and through dark valleys, we can have a great hope in celebrating our final destination in the celestial city. Along the way, once a year, Word of Life participates in the nation-wide Thanksgiving. But, Word of Life thanks the Lord for more than the arrival of the pilgrims to America. They celebrate everything the Lord has done for us through His Son Jesus Christ. This is a special day reminding us that every day can be a thanksgiving. What we do in our actions for God and others can be a way of living out our thanks.
