A s the school year comes to an end, what memories can be recalled? Was there a fear of counseling for that very first time? How about approaching a complete stranger with the gospel? What about roommates and classmates that became close friends? What about those times dur ing meals spent just laughing with friends? Can you recall the things you learned? Are you over whelmed with the realization that you finished? Are you happy to be leaving or sad to close this chapter of your life? Many started, but fewer finished. The memories probably flood into your mind. Some, however, have been forgotten. Do you look at the experience as just that, an experience, whether it be good or bad? These are just memories? What have you taken from this year that you can hold onto and carry with you for the rest of your life? Fond memories should be cherished. There is something deeper, though, that Paul spoke about in his first letter to the church of Corinth. He was an apostle. He had seen the risen Christ. He had spent time learning the faith from Jesus Christ Himself! When he visited the church, he did not talk about his life experiences: the shipwrecks, the beatings or the hardships from the Juda- izers. Though he could have boasted of his accomplishments, he did not. In 1 Corinthians 2:1-2, he said the following: “And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I de termined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.” Paul knew that even though he could have spoken of all those things, he determined not to speak of anything but the gospel of Jesus Christ which is simply this: Christ died for your sins and rose from the dead. You may be a student, a parent, a relative or a staff member. I encourage you, though, as you read this Yearbook and revisit the memories that you ask yourself a very important question. It is a question far more important than any other question that you could ask. It is this. Has there been a time in your life that you trusted in Jesus Christ alone to save you from your sins? The Bible says that every single person on this planet has sinned. Sin is missing the mark of God’s perfection. This sin separates you from God. There are wages for this sin and the wages of your sin is death, separation from God for eternity in a real place called hell. The Bible also says that Jesus Christ, the perfect son of God, came to live a sinless life and die on the cross, ■ taking your penalty for your sin and mine. God offers you a gift and that gift is eternal life. * What must you do to receive this gift? You must simply trust in Jesus Christ as your savior, l N othing else will do it. Nothing else will result in your sins being forgiven. Nothing else is accept- I able to God. Nothing else will result in eternal life for anyone. I The school year of the Bible Institute is over and this Yearbook is coming to an end I as well. Another book of the Bible, the book of James, says that life is a vapor. It is here one I moment and then it's gone the next. The gift of eternal life, however, is just that, eternal1. Will you, I if you haven't already done so, trust in Jesus Christ today?
