Above: Two “WOLBI” couples lookin’ pretty. Darrin doesn’t look too sure about the whole thing. (Angela Nealy, Jason Christofi, Darrin May, and Kim Holloman) Top Right: Hmmm, don’t they look spiffy! Steve Kubat-Army Specialist, James Gilette-Marines, Private first-class, and Aaron Shaw-Senior Airman. Below: Martin Rembert swipes some ballons for his date, Cathy Hagerman. Bottom Right: Erin Veelman, Anusha Ebenezer, and Susan Bengston lose their dates long enough for a “roomie” photograph.
The theme of the banquet brought a picture of gallantry, knighthood and princesses. The student activity council did a fine job of decorating the “all purpose” gym, with windows of stained glass and the colors of the era. After the meal, with the main course of chicken cordon bleu, a special skit was performed by the Koinonia drama team, based on WOLBI’s first dating relationship, and the timidity characterized by “Dudley Studmuffin” ending in the winning of a girl’s heart over form “Bart Scum- bucket.” Much applause was due for the comedy of the play-I think we all enjoyed it very much. The Britts and the Moser’s formed a quartet and ministered to us in song, just before the message by Harry Bolback on-well, you might have guessed it, the subject of love. All in all, the Valentine’s Banquet was a great success with the message of God’s unquenchable love to all abounding forever. -Jason Christofi
