Founder's Week Bible Conference
For a distinct difference this year the Bible 'Institute held the first ever “Founder’s Week” Bible Conference. This new event not only gave us the opportunity to learn some of God’s Word, but also presented a chance to express our appreciation for how Word of Life’s founders (Jack Wyrtzen, Harry Bollback) have let God use their lives in order to reach so many others. The theme of this year’s conference was the “Sufficiency of Scripture.” As main speaker, Ray Badgero; guest speaker, Sophie Muller; and other Word of Life staff began to minister to our hearts from God’s Word, we again realized how immensely important this Book really is. Not only as a guide for life, but also because it leads us to worship its Author. On Tuesday evening a banquet was held. Before Mike Cal houn gave the message, some very special awards were given. An essay contest was pre sented to the students several weeks before the conference. The title was to be “What My Bible Means to Me.” The winners were Art Tullberg, and Rachel Willis. A chorus contest was also held. Students were to make up the words to a chorus based on the same theme. Jo-Hannes Frick composed the winning chorus, “That’s My Bible,” which was sung throughout the con ference. All in all I think everyone would agree that it was a great conference, and many hearts were both convicted and inspired to spend more time in this one of a kind Book. -Michelle Park
