Koinonia

Back in October, Koinonia traveled to a church in a rather rough neighborhood of Coney Island for a weekend. On Saturday afternoon we held a children’s meeting and after the meeting we spent some time playing and talking with the kids. We were able to lead two of them to the Lord. If we had simply done the meeting and left, I doubt that we would have left any impression on them, but in the time we spent with them God’s love flowed through us, showing them that He loved them. We left the next day with deep burdens for these children, and with new per spectives on what it is to be ministers of the Gospel. The drama team’s name, Koinonia, means “fellowship”, or “communion.” As individual members of the Body of Christ, we can have good fellowship with our Saviour. The Lord has worked in each one of us this year to develop within Koinonia true “koinonia,” and we thank Him for all He has done for, in and

through us. -Judy Payne
