Tours
This past Christmas the Word of Life Collegians embarked on their tour ministries. “Sights and Sounds,” the larger tour, traveled to the Word of Life Camp in Hudson, Florida. “Ring the Bells” toured the Mid-Atlantic states. I am thankful that I was placed on the the “Ring the Bells” tour. The long bus rides provided time to fellowship and develop relationships with each other. We learned to appreciate fried chicken and ham sandwiches, which topped all the meals here at Word of Life. Each performance provided different memories. Whether the curtains did not open, or the lights went out, the performance always went on. Besides all the fun that tour provided, we were awed at the work God did through us and to us. There was constant prayer before the performances. God worked in spite of our errors, sickness and fatigue. The final performances in New York City saw the most decisions for salvation. This was the time when we were drained the most, and seeing such great results made us realize it was through no strength of our own. I can imagine that when we get to heaven, those people who were saved will come up and thank us for “Ring the Bells.” Then we will forget all about the make-up, long hours, and bright red, polyester skirts. -Greg Lewis
