About Us
Hillside opened its doors in 1962. Hillside is a regional shopping centre located at the corner of Hillside Avenue and Shelbourne Street, in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia. The centre serves a range of vibrant communities including the City of Victoria, and the very affluent communities of Oak Bay and Saanich. With over 100 stores and services, totalling 589,183 square feet GLA in size and estimated annual pedestrian traffic of over 5 million visitors, Hillside Centre achieves average mall sales of $535 per square foot. The Centre has a broad and diverse tenant mix which is anchored by Marshalls, Shoppers Drug Mart, Canadian Tire, SportChek/Atmosphere, Thrifty Foods and Bolen Books in 17,000 square feet.
A newly expanded food court offers a comfortable and open format featuring 15 food court vendors. Average food court sales amount to $1,675 per square foot.

Housing Market The average single family residential dwelling value in Victoria is $763,517. The average price of resale homes in Victoria increased by 24% from 2015. 3 Within 10km of Hillside the average home price jumps to $1,620,713. Greater Victoria average rental rate is $994 monthly. Victoria ranks 6th out of the top 15 cities in Canada for median monthly rent. Note: As new destination stores are added to the tenant mix, the target will broaden the 18 – 34 year segment in both the primary and secondary trading areas. Shopping Pat terns • Top 3 reasons customers cite for shopping Hillside: ‘Store Selection*’ – 67%, ‘Good Parking’ – 55% and ‘Ease of Accessibility’ – 47%.
