raised as a preacher’s kid but I never had a personal I was relationship with Jesus Christ until I attended a Word of Life Club as a 14 year old. I went to the club because I heard they had good looking girls and great refreshments, but the students in that club refreshed me with their testimony and passion for the Word of God. I realized I didn’t have what they had and a few months later accepted Christ as my Savior. The next summer I went to Word of Life Camp for the first time and I had a blast. I have been to Word of Life Camp every summer since that summer in 1967 when I attended the first one. I worked on summer camp staff for 7 summers and then became a full-time Word of Life staff member in 1974 after graduating from college. That same summer I married my college sweetheart, Fay, and we have served the Lord with Word of Life in Tennessee, California and now Florida. We love seeing the life change that comes as campers and students submit their lives to Jesus. The legacy of Word of Life in my thinking is the passion and vision we have seen in the godly leadership... men such as Jack Wyrtzen, Harry Bollback, George Theis and Joe Jordan. It is our prayer that our students will see that same passion and vision in our lives.
