glued on, and costumes in place, the mood shifted in the building. We all had one common goal and that was to portray the gospel to the thousands of people who walked through the door. When we walked on stage, we walked into the life of Jesus, witnessing His miracles and listening to His teachings. We saw Christ raise the dead and feed thousands. We saw Mary of Bethany pouring her love out on the feet of Jesus and Judas betray his Lord for thirty pieces of silver. By far, the most intense scene was the Crucifixion, where we had the task of playing the mockers and mourners at the foot of the cross. We had to watch the agony of our Savior as He cried out, the red corn syrup they used as blood looked so real. The song that was sung after this scene was called “On My Cross” and the lyrics talk about how Jesus took our nails and our scorns. Jesus died the death we deserve, and this became so real to all of us being able to witness this small representation of His sacrifice. But it didn’t end there, because our Savior rose again and ascended into heaven. As 1 Corinthians 15:54-57 says, “...death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!’ Through Jesus, Behold the Mart, our lives were changed and many of those who came to see it. And through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we stand on the victorfe side.
