Word of Life Bible Institute Yearbook 2010

Characterized by maturity and their studious work, amid the ebb and flow of everyday life, off- campus students grace Word of Life Bible Institute with their impacting presence every year. They come and take a giant step to “press pause”on their lives or even change the entire course of their future by going back to college. These are men and women that come from all stages of life, to learn the Word of God. When asked, “How does being an off-campus student affect your family?” Dawn Brooks, single mother of three, answered, “To be honest, being an off-campus student is taxing on family life when and only when God is not in control. If God is placed first in onek life, He will give you the strength, time and energy to spend time with your family that is much more fulfilling..!’ Dawn travels an hour each way to commute to class every weekday morning. Talking about the joys and expenses of commuting to class every weekday, first-year Tamara Davidson said, “I travel from Schroon Lake for classes, and what a beautiful drive! It allows you to really appreciate the gifts of nature that God has given us. On the down side there is the extra cost of gas, and with limited income it can be a challenge sometimes. Also, if you have evening classes, there is the extra expense of traveling twice a day..!’ Cory Jennings, a married, off-campus student recommends the program to other adults saying, ”... it’s a great experience and is very reasonable for a family who is interesting in attending Word of Life Bible Institute to further their (biblical) education.”For sure, off-campus students add dynamic and vibrancy that would otherwise be absent.
