Word of Life Bible Institute Yearbook 2010

America is often called the Great Melting Pot for the vast diversity that spans across our nation. Here at the Bible Institute, we have our own little recipe of students brewing. Blessed with the opportunity to have international students, we have a varied mixture of foreign flavors. Coming from different countries to America takes some transitioning for our foreign students. Nadine Scholtz, a first year student from Germany, says that the hardest part about adapting to classes are the misunderstandings from the different cultural backgrounds and academically, to understand the questions in the right way!’ But Nadine has really enjoyed the experience. “The fellowship with all the young people... and all the international students!’Where college food is usually a transition for most kids, it is especially a transition for our international students. Keeping a more positive view, Diego Alvarez, another first year from Peru, says, “Mom’s cooking is the best, but this is not bad!’ With so many different nationalities and cultural backgrounds, our student body is a multifaceted and dynamic assembly of devoted followers of the Lord. For as the body is one, As 1 Corinthians 12:12 says and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ!’

Traveling in from all parts of the world, are students from 53

different countries, which certainly makes campus life more vibrant and seasoned.
