Crazy games, lots of laughs and an entire night full of fun and fellowship. One of Word of Life’s biggest ministries with teens is Superbowls; a full twenty-four hours devoted to reaching out to different youth groups in New York and New England. Various ministry teams head out on the weekends, right after classes, preparing themselves for the long night ahead of them. Starting out the evening at a sporting event, usually hockey or basketball, different youth groups from the surrounding churches join together for this all-nighter. After the game is done and people clear out, a gospel message is presented and the Word of Life students get the incredible opportunity to counsel the kids afterwards. Jessica Wilke said, “So many kids get saved; it is why it’s so worth it. It’s exhausting but you get to see so many people come to Christ!’ Even some of the people who work at the arena will come forward for salvation. After the message the youth groups split up and go to the multiple locations that are set up for game time. As the early hours of the morning approach, everyone is still going strong. Whether at the bowling alley, bouncing around on the inflatables, or competing in an intense Wii competition, a good time is to be had all around.
