2 Timothy 3:14, “But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it!’ It is said that the legacies we leave are based on the ones that we follow. Through the course of our lives it is the choices that we make that dictate the impact we spin into motion. 2 Timothy 3:14 lends the well-sought wisdom of following the lead of the teachers who come before us. Here at the Bible Institute, we have the privilege of studying about the greatest Teacher the world has ever known; Jesus Christ. Peace Pilgrim once said, “For light I go directly to the Source of Light, not to any of the reflections!’ Whose life is better to imitate than the one man who lived a perfect life of love, strength, and miracles. Like a drop of water makes a ripple on the smooth surface of a pond, so the actions of our lives create a ripple that could potentially affect the world. It is our own choices that dictate whether the repercussions will be ones of good works or destruction. Our goal for the year of 2009-2010 is to develop and learn how to live a life that is worth imitation, how to follow the purpose of God and not the temptations of the world. With the help of professors, staff, and friends, we have embarked on a journey of discovery: the discovery of how to follow the leading hands of Christ into a life driven, not by the things around us, but by the Word of God and the perfect life of Jesus. Having a foundation focused on our heavenly Father makes a clear set of footprints for others to follow in our wake. After we are gone, our legacy will be one that will exemplify the wisdom, love, and dedication that can only come from our relationship with God. When we look back on our lives, the thumbprint of God will be visibly clear in all that we have done. “Commit your ways to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun’.- Psalm 37:5-6
