Cross Country: (left to right) Evan Williams, Kristin, Anderson, Rebecca Brooks, Amanda Conklin, Aaron Spoonhour, Kyle Ierly and Andrew Kramer
Cross Country is a very unique sport. Most sports view running as a punishment, however, cross country has made a sport out of it. All we do is run, run and run some more. But that was never the |§main purpose of this season. # The season was approached as a ministry for the glory of God and it proved exactly so. The guys trained for an 8k (5 mile)
race while the girls trained for a 5k (3.1 mile) race. Every meet was an opportunity to share the
gospel. The most important part of this season to me, were the spiritual applications. After every race, our team had the opportunity to share Jesus with fellow runners. Many seeds were planted and I can only pray that they get watered and continue to grow. The season taught me endless and precious truths about “running” in this Christian life. There is only one thing that I’ve learned this season and that is to always run for Jesus: 1 Corinthians 9:24, 26-27. -Aaron Spoonhour gg
