Word of Life Bible Institute Yearbook 2009

S o c c e r T he WOLBI Huskies men’s soccer team had a very fruitful season although the 3-12 record might not indicate that. Yes, we only won three games but during the course of the season we were able to gather each team around us after the game and pray with them. Our captain would ask their captain if it was OK for us to have a word of prayer before we left and each team said "yes!1 Even some coaches were very enthusiastic about the need and encouraged it and said we even needed more of this. One young man received Christ as his Savior when Brian Berger talked to him after our very first game. We had many great conversations and presented the gospel after most of the games. When Christians played on the opposing team we were able to have a good but short time of fellowship and encourage them. During the winter quarter we have been preparing to go into the prisons so we continue practicing each week. We hope to go to a few churches and hold small tourneys with three teams and preach the gospel and encourage the church each time we go. That is something new for us but the Lord seems to always be pushing us forward through new open

doors. Eleven of our players went to Honduras and El Salvador on our spring Sports International trip. The Lord did wonderful things throughout the year.
