NEWS & EVENTS Curriculum is her passion
Nicole Billante, a foundation member of the Centre for Teaching Excellence & Research and former Head of Teaching & Learning for Humanities and English, became College’s new Assistant Principal – Curriculum at the start of Term 3.
After four years at the Taipei European School in Taiwan, Nicole joined College in August 2015, teaching English and ESOL. Curriculum is her passion and she aims to consolidate College’s “coaching culture for teaching excellence” and explore future curriculum developments for students. Nicole grew up in the United States, returning to New Zealand aged 16. She graduated with an MA in Political Science (with Distinction) and a Graduate Diploma of Teaching and Learning from the University of Canterbury and College of Education. Although busy in her new role, Nicole also finds time to work on her PhD in Positive Organisational Scholarship – where she is looking at how positive psychology can be used to help organisations flourish. Her two dogs, study, reading, socialising and quiz sessions fill any spare hours she may have.
