Philadelphia, Pennsylvania In His first year with Word of Life, Mr. John Cartwright has already advised the student body with numerous words of godly wisdom, as evidenced by the challenge above. In amazing ways, the Lord has worked to lead this man back to the Word of Life Bible Institute and into the position of Dean of Men. Growing up in a Christian home just outside of Philadelphia, Mr. Cartwright was saved at the age of four. His father pioneered the planting of a church in their hometown and served as a wonderful example of a godly man in his life. After graduating high school, Mr. Cartwright began his higher education here at Word of Life New York. Following his first year, he attended Liberty University in Lynchburg,VA, and went on to receive his Master ofArts in Religion and a Master of Divinity from Liberty’s Seminary. While attending Liberty, the Lord began tugging on his heart by giving him a great desire to teach. After six years of teaching at a small Christian school in Miami, he was called to continue his teaching, but to become more involved in the arena of ministry training. Alter much thought and prayer he and his wife were led to do so back in the good old Adirondack Mountains of New York! Mr. Cartwright says he’s excited to be a part of what he believes to be an extremely exciting period of growth and ministry here at Word ol Life Bible Institute.Though at some point in the future he would like to study for his doctorate, right now his greatest calling is to grow in the newest dimension of his life entitled fatherhood, as he learns what it means to build a godly home Our Dean ol Men leaves us with the verse that has played an important part in his own life, Philippians 3:10: ‘That I may know Him and the power ol His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformed to His death.”
