Setting the Standard “Good morning ladies and gentlemen,” states Dr. Tom Davis in his usual greeting ofsecond year students in the Council Hall classroom that has come to feel like a home with Wicksisms adorning the walls as decoration. A smaller class gives opportunity to higher learning and greater fun as students become like a family in the second year program. The second year at the Bible Institute brings together first year students from the New York, Florida, and Canadian campuses to study topics which will be useful to the ministries many of the graduates will be heading into. Practical classes like Discipleship and Philosophy of Ministry teach the students the importance of having a solid Biblical base for their ministries. Along with practical study comes theological study; studying specific books of the Bible and other religious beliefs provides for deeper thinking on the part of the student. Many second year students take a step up in leadership and apply the Biblical truth learned in class to their every day lives. Second year at the Bible Institute offers not only book knowledge but also ways to apply classroom learning on a day by day basis.
A group of students joins together to share praises and prayer requests during break. Second year provides close friendships that are so beneficial to heightened spiritual growth. Knowing that your brothers and sisters are praying for you is such a great encouragement.
Dr. Scheide listens intently as Bjon Bruce asks a question during a ten minute break. Guest Lecturers were always very willing to take the time needed to answer questions and impart wisdom.
