Ministering to the needy Matthew 25:40b :“Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” As students of the Word and servants of the Lord, we are called to pour out our lives for Christ anywhere and everywhere we go. Serving others as though serving Christ means giving of ourselves in any capacity in order to bring Him honor, glory and praise. The men involved in the Prison and Rescue Mission Ministries are given the opportunity to do just that. Through out the year, those on the Rescue Mission Team travel to the Schenectady and Albany Rescue Missions to minister to those who have sought shelter at the Mission. Serving hot meals, lending a listening ear to those who have just come in off the streets and being given the opportunity to openly share with them the message of the Gospel enables them to live out their committment to serve the Lord by serving others. Those involved in the Prison Ministry are given the opportunity to share Christ in a similar manner as they spend time one-on-one with inmates involved in various Bible Study Programs. On a whole, this unique ministry enables select students of the Bible Institute to go into unreached territory to touch the hearts and minds of those who otherwise might never hear the Truth of the Word.
Dave Shamlian and Phil Fidler know that encouragement through Jesus is the only way their ministry will work.
