What a joy to present to you this year's yearbook with the theme from Colossians 3:2, “Setting our minds on things above.’ it has been our desire this year to share with you through our words and our lives the awesome responsibility to set our minds on things above. This can only be done as we saturate our minds and our lives with His Word so that we might think His thoughts. A yearbook brings many memories. Our prayer is that as you look through this volume and see faces of friends, faculty, and staff that your hearts will be moved to faithfulness in the awesome privilege of thinking His thoughts and setting our minds on things above. Through your smiles and maybe even shedding of tears, my prayer is that you will never forget what God taught you this year at Word of Life. -Joe Jordan WOLBI Chancellor
Together, making up one body, looking to the future with one vision, caring about one another,
and thinking with one mind; we are the servants of Christ at the Word of Life Bible Institute.
We have come from all over the world for one purpose, to discover how we can serve Christ better. God has called His children to be united in one body, to reach out to the world with one gospel, to love one another, and to think with one mind. As we have gone through this year, we have each grown closer to God in different ways. But we have all learned that we must focus our minds and hearts on God’s plan for each of our lives. Having the mind of Christ can only be accomplished by continually seeking God’s will for our lives. This year’s theme is based around that thought. To truly possess the mind of Christ we must keep our focus on God and off of ourselves. God reminds us constantly of this fact through His perfect and Holy word to, “Set your minds on the things that are above and not on the things that are on earth.”

bioexplanation BIO CITY, STATE favorite quote/verse of each student inter viewed will be featured here Here we are, a group of about 500 students coming together with one focus-setting our minds on things above. But just where did we all come from ? Throughout this book that is the question we seek to answer. Intermingled throughout the book you will find sections laid out similar to what you are looking at right now. Within them you will find brief biographies we have put together on some of our fellow students. We have tried to include a brief overview of their family background and home town where they grew up, as well as some other interesting things we could dig up on them. We hope that you will enjoy looking into just a glimpse of these peoples lives, and what God has accomplished in their lives thus far. The people interviewed literally come from all around the world; Australia, Japan, Hawaii, and Keyna to name a few. We are truly a myriad of people from all different cultures coming together for the express purpose of “setting our minds on things above”. (A special thanks to those who allowed us to look into the window of their lives. We appriciate the time you put in answering questions, and flipping through your albums to find us the perfect pictures for us to feature.)

FOUNDER (1934-1996)
God used., a man of explicit and almost childlike faith who believed that God would do the impossible
From the beginning of Word of Life as a young men’s club to sold-out meetings at Carnegie Hall to over 60 years of service dedicated to the Lord, Jack began it all. His main heartbeat was to reach the world with the gospel of Christ. Jack’s joyful spirit will continue in the spirit of Word of Life. harrybollback FOUNDER (1941-1991)
his life is a testimony of the fact that a life sold out to the Lord Jesus Christ is the most exciting life available
Harry Bollback began by playing the piano for Word of Life rallies. Becoming aware of the Lord’s calling into missions work, Harry ministered to native South Americans. Still a vital part of the ministry, Harry now spends his time challenging the youth of today with the gospel at camps around the world. georgetheis FORMER DIRECTOR (1991-1999) his stability, gracious ness, consistency, humility, godly example Working in Word of Life Clubs, the camping ministry, and International Bible Institutes has given George Theis a love for ministry. He became the Executive Director in 1991 and passed the torch to Joe in August of 1999. George continues to minister with Word of Life both overseas and in the states. of a husband, father, leader, and friend has effected many
COUNSEL OF A FRIEND Students at Word of Life have the privilege of having Chancellor Joe Jordan come and teach them the word at various times throughout the year. Here Joe is able to invest his life into the future generations that will carry the torch of Christianity. -Joe talking with 1st year student Isaac Coburn
WORDSJDF LIFE_____ PAST TO PRESENT, WORD OF LIFE IS ALIVE AND GROWING Christ, the firm foundation, is what the entire Word of Life ministry is built upon. Without this solid base, the ministry would have plummeted years ago. But because of a strong stand taken by founders Jack Wyrtzen and Harry Bollback, and carried on today by Executive Director Joe Jordan, Word of Life is a ministry that has stood for over fifty years. In that time it has grown from its founding American soil to claiming many portions of the world for Christ. Word of Life is responsible for seeing thousands of lost lives changed to alive and meaningful ones through the gospel. Those same people often return to take part in the ministry of Word of Life; a testimony to the impact that this organization has had on their lives. Word of Life began with a passion to see people come to a saving knowledge of Jesus
JOE JORDAN WOLBI Chancellor ■ Director of Word of Life International (1999-present] Joe’s history with Word of Life began when he was just an 8th grade boy. Don Kelso, a successful business man, invited Joe to Word of Life Island. That week on the “very special Island” Joe “met Jesus.” Since then God has used him in amazing ways. In 1971, Joe took Word of Life to Argentina. Today Joe Jordan serves as the Executive Director of Word of Life, and strives to continue reaching the world with the gospel.
Christ. Jack knew the reality of a personal relationship with God, and could think of nothing better than to share it with others. Nothing gave him more joy then seeing peoples lives changed. He began speaking to small groups of people and it quickly grew into radio and television. The passion caught on, and numerous people caught the vision of reaching the world with the gospel. Word of Life grew into an international ministry of camps, local church ministries, and Bible Institutes in order to reach young people with the truth. Today, 46 countries around the world are a part of the Word of Life ministry. Dedicated people have given their lives to reaching people with the gospel. Countless hours are given to providing programs to help people grow in their understanding of God. With this growing knowledge applied to their lives, these people are equipped to continue the work of Christ. This ministry is one of expansion and excitement! People who once were lost are now alive to Christ. Word of Life will continue to grow as long as people like these step up to sharing the gospel with the lost people of the world. By the year 2010, Word of Life hopes to be in 58 additional countries ranging from Asia to the West Coast. This goal sounds overwhelming, but one thing Word of Life prides itself on is believing in a God who has an amazing history of making the impossible happen. This God is the same God who uses ordinary people to be ambassadors to the world to spread the gospel message. It’s those people that are needed to make this vision a reality-people who have chosen a life of setting their minds on things above.

DR. TOM TAYLOR EVERYONE’S FAVORITE CHURCH HISTORY TEACHER Dr. Tom Taylor has been teaching at Word of Life Bible Institute since 1971. He claims that he has had no giant adventures but that he loves teaching at Word of Life because he has always felt welcomed by both the staff and the students. History has always been a favorite subject of Dr. Taylor and that is only one of the resaons he enjoys teaching Church History during Spring quarter. He feels that people do not know enough about the history of the church and he wants to keep them informed. He especially enjoys teaching at Word of Life because he says, “I can use the same jokes every year!” He loves keeping his students interested by telling of his wedding day, of which he claims, “ I barely survived and itwas too much work!” He loves to invest individual time in his students lives and distinctly remembers having Dr. Davis and Mr. Wicks in his classroom. Dr. Taylor has many passions in life. He loves studying the Bible; his favorite verse is Romans 4:5 and he also enjoys studying the book of Ecclesiastes. His giant sense of humor promises to keep the students laughing with his bow ties and multiple life stories and experiences. He enjoys fishing, singing, and he is a self-proclaimed virtuoso harmonica player. When free time is available, he loves to read, especially Sherlock Holmes mysteries and The Lord of the Rings. He warns future students that he is in the process of making new tests and says that they should probably begin studying immediately. He has always enjoyed teaching at Word of Life Bible Institute and hopes that it will continue in the years to come. To the students attending Word of Life, he has some advice to give. He is in favor of students continuing their education and says that they should attend another school after their one or two years ofthe Bible Institute. He also says that they should continually be sharpening their skills and always be using their gifts and talents for the Lord. To close, he says, “Always take advantage of the time God has given you to study His Word and always remember to set your minds on the things above.” TAYLOR ON HIMSELF “When I was 17 years old, I decided I would be an evangelist. I discovered that when I gave an invitation, people got up and went for water, not the altar!” -church history; first year spring 2002

POTTERSVILLE, NY THE SECRET OF THE ADIRONDACKS
In the midst of the mighty Adirondack Mountains, resting on the banks of Schroon Lake, lies the quaint town of
Pottersville, New York.
It isn’t large in size but it has definitely been filled with spirit. When one first drives into Pottersville, they might wonder where the traffic light may be; but further down the road they will find a Bible Institute with much to offer. To the everyday on looker this town may not even seem worthy of a second glance; but when one spends quality time here, the impact is outstanding. A few years ago Word of Life was able to purchase the old school building and turn it into its International Headquarters. The second year classroom is held in Headquarters and students take advantage of the town’s assets. C &B’s General Store is a much loved place for students to grab a bite to eat and the Nice-n-Easy Mobile station offers coffee to keep students awake during early morning exams and pizza to satisfy their late night cravings. Everyone has grown to love this small town known for it’s three feet of snow and breathtaking sunsets as well as the friendly faces who wave as the Word of Life Bible Institute’s bus drives by.

BREAKFAST ANYONE? C & B’s has always been the local hangout of 2nd year WOLBI students. Locals intermix every morning for breakfast and a smile.
POTTERSVILLE TOWNIES “I have always enjoyed growing up in Pottersville. Even though it’s small and not the classiest looking town it has it’s benefits. I had the privilege of having family and friends live within walking distance of me, plus the beauty of the Adirondack mountains and all the activities with that to enjoy. We would go swimming in Schroon Lake in the summer, and snowboarding at Gore Mountain in the winter. There were always things going on at WOLBI as well for us to be involved in. It was also very nice to be able to eat out at the family restaurants, C & B’s and Black Bear. It's a great place, and I wouldn't have liked to have grown up any where else but here.” -Cindi Warken

WELCOME TO CLASS Headquarters greets the second year students with its magnificent stone walls. Students are grateful for its central location in town.
COFFEE ANYONE? Nothing is better than hot coffee and doughnuts. Chris Milian smiles at a friend and shows that his morning was nice and easy.
EATING OFF CAMPUS Many of the students joke around about the Sysco food here at WOLBI, so for the girls it’s a treat to eat at the local Thai restraunt.
HAVE SOME SPARE TIME The RA’s enjoy a kick back, relaxing social gathering at Husdson Bowl, another local hangout.
GOD IS FAITHFUL TO HIS WORD Five years before retirement God laid on my heart to go to Word of Life Bible Institute. Then a year before retirement I read a book titled, “If You Want to Walk on Water, You Have to Step Out of The Boat”. For me, my “boat" was the financial security of my job. It was a long internal struggle. Shortly after reading the book I came across my newly adopted favorite verse, Isaiah 41.10, and it’s just bubbling over with promises. As always, God is faithful to His word. Now, in retirement, I want to give God the best years of my remaining years, before “my race is done," beginning with this year at Word of Life Florida Bible Institute. I was all set to attend at Schroon Lake, but in God’s special way, at the last minute He saw to it that iwas switched to Florida. The class size is smaller than in NY, but I am absolutely thrilled studying with the classmates God has put around me here. -Tom Sarrge

welcome to HUDSON, FL OUR TROPICAL FAMILY COVE
The Florida Campus has the priviledge to be located in such a wonderous array of diversities. We are situated in the midst of over 500 acres of lakes, forests and beautiful scenery, being just a few miles away from the sunny Gulf Coast. Situated just north of Tampa Bay, we have not only a bit of the city...but we live in the heart of the country. Some of the delights that the students enjoy would have to include the white sandy beaches of Clearwater, the International Mall in Tampa, the sponge docks of Tarpon Springs, snorkeling on the Rainbow River, swimming with Manatees at Crystal River and not to forget bowling at Fludson Bowl. As you can see there are plenty of activities to do that are at our footsteps, but the thing that everyone enjoys the most is the family atmosphere that survives just around our circle, as we set our minds on the principals laid down in God’s Holy Word here at the Bible Institute in the sun.

MOMBASA, KENYA
“God never uses dirty vessels, only broken vessels. Be broken before God."
Not too many students have a threat made on their life because of coming to a Bible Institute. Peter Odanga is a second year NY student who has faced numerous trials in order to attend Word of Life Bible Institute but he has continued to follow God’s lead. Peter was raised in Mombasa, Kenya, with a large family including two sisters and six brothers. For the ten years before coming to the states, Peter worked for Word of Life in Kenya. He decided to attend the Bible Institute to become better equipped for a life of missions work. Peter has been on many short term missions trips which have increased his desire to reach Africa for Christ. While attending the Bible Institute, Peter has been using his gift of evangelism through OAE and playing on the soccer team. Peter has been learning recently that God can use you wherever you are. He has a heart for youth and uses both sports and drama to aid him in spreading the truth of Christ. His original plan of becoming an auto mechanic was replaced with missions when God touched Peter’s heart and gave him the goal of sharing the gospel with the lost world. Having many plans for the upcoming years, Peter is beginning with marriage to a beautiful lady named Judy, she is currently attending first year at the Bible Institute in New York. Eventually the couple plans on joining the Word of Life family by becoming missionaries to Uganda, Africa. Peter knows that God will bring him through the uncertain times as long as he is, “setting his mind on things above.”

shymon
Shymon was raised in Israel with a background as a European Jew. Although not raised in a Christian family, he knows Christ's work is evidenced in his life. Shymon is the only believer in his family and prays every day for their salvation. Being able to speak Spanish fluently, he has been able to use his gifts and talents for the Lord by helping missionaries around the world. Shymon has had the opportunity to travel to both America and the Holy Land using the skills that the Lord has provided. Shymon's soul desire is to know God's will for his life and to better serve Christ with his entire life. He has learned that if you "give everything to the Almighty, you won't be disappointed." Shymon knows that by being where God wants him to be, he is "setting his mind on things above."

THE SOLID ROCK Mayumi sits with some friends from Japan on Word of Life Island. Mayumi began a brand new life after accepting Christ that summer. The Island is an amazing opportunity for ministry that is available to WOLBI students.
mayumim IBARAKI, JAPAN "I think you have to experience it and when you do, you’ll feel as Mayumi, it is life changingf”
Word of Life has an amazing ministry in Japan and also with Japanese young people in the United States. This is proven by the personal testimony of second year student, Mayumi Motochi. Mayumi was born and raised in Ibaraki, Japan, along with her brother and parents, all unsaved. A few years ago she had the opportunity of coming to WOL Island and that summer she trusted Christ. Her heart is here because it was her place of salvation and she also feels far away from her family who have rejected Christ out of pride. She attended WOLBI in the Philippines in order to study both the Bible and English. She then decided to come to the Bible Institute in New York to build a Christian foundation in her life. Mayumi has many strong, Christian relationships which have helped her learn how to better glorify God. Knowing that God needs to receive glory from all aspects of our lives, Mayumi uses soccer to witness by having a
sportsmanlike and joyful attitude. These past two years have changed her life so much that she can hardly express it in words. She says, “nothing I can say could tell you how much I learned and how I have grown these two years past!" Mayumi knows that the best way to glorify God is by “setting her mind on things above...”

Not many get the opportunity to grow up the way Amy Hartman did. How many of us can say we spent our childhood among the Rocky Mountains rock climbing flyfishing, hiking or.scooping ice cream? Amy’s parents run a old fashioned soda fountain in the heart of a small tourist town. From the day Amy was able to see over the counter she became what they refer to as a “soda jerk.” Lake City is a small town, boasting a population of about 450 year round residents, but it’s a place where one can always feel welcome. Being homeschooled offered the chance for Amy to spend valuable time with her family, such as month long road trips touring the US. This past winter she was also able to spend some time in New Zealand working with kids at a Christian camp where she helped in a variety of ways.
“rejoice always.”
Definately not your average girl, Amy is one that is often found up trees and collecting little nature tidbits (in her barefeet of course)--only to the amusement of those that know her here at WOLBI.
ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH Where the moutains truely are their backyard, the Harman’s home is situated at 9,000 ft in the Rockies.
SODA JERKS Amy is pictured here with her big brother, Jason, working in the family soda fountain-the San Juan Soda Co.
kerstinweber VIENNA, AUSTRIA
Kristin is a free-spirited girl who loves to laugh and joke around. Living in Europe has given her the opportunity to travel and she loves getting to know about different cultures. Her biggest adventure was traveling to the U.S. and attending Word of Life Bible Institute. Kristin has always dreamed of living in the States for a year and was thrilled at the opportunity to gain extensive Bible knowledge while learning more about herself and another culture. Since coming overseas in September, Kristin has learned many valuable lessons. She now takes her trials along with her triumphs and says, "throw away all your worries and start trusting in the Lord because He knows what is good for you and He will answer all of your prayers." Kristin has learned that if you want to conquer life's trials you must first, "set your mind on things above...".
“never stop trusting in the Lord and stand up for what is right, even if you are standing alone"
Although she is from Austria, she does not know how to yodel. Kristen was born and raised in Vienna with her parents and two sisters. Since Austria is a predominantly Catholic country, her family attended the local Catholic church until they were invited to an evangelical church where they have attended ever since.
TOGETHER LIKE HORSE AND CARRIAGE To many tourists the fiaker is the exciting way to get around Vienna, but to Kersitin it’s simply a mode of trasporation.

MELBORN, AUSTRALIA "Live as if you only have one day left, keep a joyful heart, a right attitude and your focus on Christ."
The Bible Institute is very fortunate to have students from all over the world; all parts of Europe and Asia, as well as the Caribbean. But this second year student studies with us from “Down Under.” Imre, or as his friends lovingly call him Ime, was born and raised in Melborn, Australia, along with his parents and two older brothers. His parents are of Hungarian descent and migrated to Australia as young children. When Ime was about three years old his parents accepted Christ, he followed their example and placed his faith in Christ at the age of seven. Ime has a great sense of humor and claims that he has gotten his hair done professionally, he says that his goal is to never go to a hair dresser for his entire life. He laughingly said, “I let anyone cut my hair!” After attending Word of Life Bible Institute Australia in 1999 with three other students, Ime decided to remain there as an intern for a few years. While he worked and studied in Australia, Ime was reading numerous biographies of people serving the Lord. He was amazed at how much these people knew about the Word of God and he made the decision to attend second year in Pottersville, New York. Ime lives his life one day at a time and a major lesson he has learned is that only obedience to God can give a person true freedom. Of this he said, “The gateway of freedom is only opened by the key of obedience." This year at the Bible Institute, Ime wants to show his obedience to God by seeking His direction, and what better way to start doing that then by “setting his mind on things above...”
IN SESSION The Word of Life Bible Institute in Australia may be small (we wouldn’t normally consider 2 students a class) but don't be fooled. Here Ime was given a unique learning opportunity that provided good friends and great laughs.

LOVE ONE ANOTHER “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and every one who loves is born of God and knows God.” -7 John 4:7
ANOTHER WE ARE ALL BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST If only five words were allowed to describe every person on the Word of Life campuses, these words would have to be used: “saved by grace through faith.” Everyone, either a student or staff member, is so different from one another yet we all share the same bond in Jesus Christ. This connection gives us brothers and sisters who, under other circumstances, we may not have met. Students come to attend the Word of Life Bible Institute at either the New York or Florida campus from all over the world. They have come from Asia, Australia, the Middle East, Europe, and all over North America to learn of the truths found in the Word of God. The relationships built by students with each other and staff are based on the love of God and will continue for a life time through eternity. Although every person has a different background, they find unity in Christ. At Word of Life, students build strong friendships with their roommates, RA’s, and staff personnel. By having the opportunity to serve together in work assignments, ministries, and camp, people at Word of Life Bible Institute know howto encourage one another. Basing every relationship around the love of Christ, students have found out how important it is to “set their minds on things above.”

Christina Beachy Deans RD
Joe Schenke is the much loved and respected campus Pastor on the NY campus of Word of Life Bible Institute. Mr. Schenke is originally from Chicago, IL where he was raised in a Roman Catholic family. By God's grace he and his sister had accepted Christ as their personal Lord and Savior; they are still praying for the rest of his family including his younger brother. At the age of 19, Joe Schenke was invited to attend a church and watch a video entitled, "Distant Thunder." Afterwards the Pastor of the church gave an invitation and shared the Gospel, Mr. Schenke went forward and accepted Christ. He was immediately discipled in this church and for many weeks met for discipleship three times a week. In the autumn of 1981, Joe Schenke was attending second year; at that time there was only one internship position and he was it! It was a stretching but beneficial experience, he met his wife during that year as she attended first year, they were married three years later in 1984. Mr. Schenke's lifeverse is Proverbs 14:23 which says that, "In all labor there is profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty." He knows that by spending his life serving the Lord he is continually setting his mind on the things above..."

"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."
Staff members come from all walks of life and from all areas of the world. Mrs. Fran Ingersoll was born and raised in Michigan and lived part of her adult life in Washington before coming on staff at WOLBI Florida. Mrs. Ingersoll grew up in a family of six children and always attended church as a child. Although she was told she had accepted Christ as a young child, she always lacked a deep assurance of that faith. When she began to attend Nursing College she finally was confronted about her salvation and as a result of her truly accepting Christ as her personal Lord and Savior, Fie in turn changed her attitudes and goals. It was at the same church of her conversion where she met her husband Gary. After marrying in 1977, Gary and Fran became involved in various ministries including the youth pastorate. They, along with their two children, became local church missionaries in Washington State. Fran grew especially in her love for drama and participated greatly in that ministry. After twelve years, another move was made to Hudson, FI where Gary and Fran Ingersoll now serve on the WOLBI campus as Professor of Bible Survey and Nurse/Secretary. Fran is grateful that the Lord has blessed her with the ability to use her gifts and talents to serve Him. THE CLEANING LADY Rachel Fetterhoff motivates her dorm to clean by making dorm jobs fun.
LEADERSHIP 4_et your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. -Matthew 5: 16 SIUDENTLEADERSHIP LEADERSHIP IS AN ACTION, NOT A POSITION
The importance of on campus leadership in dorms and around work areas is indespensable; it is the grease that oils the college to work at its highest quality. Word of Life Bible Institute is known for using the young in difficult leadership positions. They believe that youth is a valuable thing to not waste. The abilities that are tapped into here with young leadership is what makes the Bible Institute stand out among its competitors. Leadership teaches responsibility and discipline, things that are valuable and missing in the world today.
The RA and Internship programs help young people to see the importance of both these qualities and different ways to put them to use. The program takes the Word of God and applies it to the daily grind of the work areas bringing light to difficult situations. This is an amazing way to learn, grow and get involved in the work of God, even while you are young.

Being an intern in the bakery has been one of the more eye opening experiences I have ever had. I have learned quite a lot about the human experience end what leadership involves. Motivation was a key, both in my life and others. I had to stay motivated, and learn how to motivate others to work to their potential, it was very challenging to find some people’s drive. I learned more about delegation and using people where they are gifted. A lot of leadership is just paying attention to people. You have to be willing to listen and learn from them, as well as instruct them on a possible better way. Spiritually, the internship was a test. It is easy to let things go and to look at it as just a job, or to focus on the negative things and let attitudes develop. a The other thing that stands out is getting to work with the full time kitchen staff. These guys are the behind the scenes people, and yet they stand out more in my mind than the Deans or RDs.when it comes to student interaction. The office was constantly full of people getting counsel and advice. I got to learn a lot about the real reason we are here, and that is to serve others. Being behind the scenes exposes you to both sides. If you look at it from the vantage point of “what can I learn,’’ then you can take the good and learn from the bad. Overall, it was a great opportunity to learn. Plus, I got all the doughnuts I wanted! i Jacob Wilke

OFF CAMPUS EXPERIENCING WOLBI FROM A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE Two areas that enable students to attend WOLBI while getting a new twist at the same time are the Off Campus and Inn Work Stay options. Students who are married or prefer to work in order to pay for schooling as they attend certainly have a different outlook on the WOLBI experience. The ministry opportunities in both of these areas are amazing. Students interact within the surrounding community as well as with the students who live on campus. The discipline factor is also greater as these students must learn to prioritize as they are not only juggling academica and ministry but also work and sometimes a family. None of these students regret this year and many have grown in their personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ at a rate they never would have imagined.

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA "Claim victory in Jesus, and sing it out loud."
This year being an off campus student has opened up a lot of opportunities to minister to people within the community. It has been awesome to get to know the people of Pottersville and to let them see the love of Christ in our daily lives. By the grace of God one of the boys in our neighborhood trusted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and wants to grow in his walk with Christ. Praise be to God for allowing us to be up here learning and growing in the Word of God this year!

WORD OF LIFE BIBLE INSTITUTE 1st yearSTUDENTS New York natfigueredo MIAMI FLORIDA "It isn't a question of
what I am willing to give to Christ; it is a question of what I hold back from Him that is rightfully H is ."
Justin Antranikian Alpharetta, GA
There are WOLBI campuses in both New York and Florida so students can choose the campus which best suits their needs. Sometimes, students from Florida decide to come to the NY campus instead of the Florida campus; Natalie Figueredo is one of these students. Natalie, born and raised in Miami, FL, is of Spanish-Cuban descent. She is one of seven children and lives with her mother and step-father in Florida when she is home. Her family is a loving and exciting one and she is proud to be an aunt of six kids. She was saved at a young age while attending a Christian school and in 1999 rededicated her life to the Lord at summer camp in WOL Florida. Natalie decided to attend WOLBI because she wanted to know the correct answers when people questioned her about her faith in Christ. Her main desire this year has been to truly understand God's Word, to share it with others, and to set a strong Biblical foundation for her life. Natalie's two life verses are found in Philippians 1:20 and 4:13. Both of these verses remind her that she has Christ's strength behind her and He will never let her fall. Natalie plans on completing her schooling and starting an orphanage overseas. She has a deep desire to reach people with the Gospel and she knows she can accomplish these things if she, "sets her mind on things above..."

THE GORE GROUP Nothing says snow like the slopes. This WOLBI group enjoy the beauty of the adirandacks at Gore Mountain. SKI SLOPES La Nae Gainer shows perfect form as she skis down one of Gore Mountain's many hills. Many students enjoyed skiing during their Monday off.
WHEN THE SNOW FALLS, THE FUN BEGINS
GORE MOUNTAIN Working at Gore Mtn. was a great opportunity to be a Christian testimony doing something we love to do. We were able to develop relationships with unsaved co workers and they saw a difference in the way we lived our lives and the way we handled and reacted to situations. Many people asked us what brought us to the area which opened doors to telling about Word of Life, what we learn here, and sharing our testimonies. It was great to be able to reach out to the community not from obligation but with every day activities. -Carissa Faulkenberg
You know who they are, they are a little odd. They like cold, they get up early on Monday mornings, they dance when it snows ( a figurative phrase referring to mirth and rejoicing), and they examine ice
crystals. They are the snow sliders or skiers and snowboarders. At a school in the Adirondacks you expect to find some loyal snow-lovers and WOLBI is no exception. A small jump was built that provided hours of entertainment, photo opportunities, and broken eyeglasses. We had the chance to get some air, relieve stress, and props to all you guys who got inverted this year! On Mondays, Gore and Whiteface have been a blast despite the -75 degree cold and frostbite. The sun shone and the sky was blue and we all come back to school happy and tired. Gore always kept us busy and filled us with memories; it's been a great season and I can't wait till the snow flies again!
