Some students decide to attend WOLBI beginning in January instead of fall quarter. Although it is stretching, all January students will agree that the spiritual growth during winter quarter is amazing. Aarika Lipford is a January student who completed fall quarter a few years ago and decided to finish her Bible Institute year in 2003. Aarika is from District Heights, MD, where she lives with her mother. She accepted Christ at the age of five after reading her children's Bible and asking her mother about Jesus. Her mother explained that Jesus was the Son of God and died for her sins and Aarika believed. Her mother has always supported her in her decisions and encourages her to grow in her walk with Christ. Aarika decided to attend the Bible Institute because of her heart for missions. She realizes that God has called her into full-time missions and wants to strengthen her knowledge of God's Word. She felt that WOLBI was the best place to get her focus completely on adoring the Lord before she went overseas. Aarika's life verse is Psalm 37:4.

"Give the Lord everything you have and everything you are. True happiness and completion only comes through the Lord." Psalm 37:4

and she knows that if she delights herself in the Lord, He will give her the desires of her heart. In the future, Aarika plans on being a full-time missionary in Japan through Word of Life. She has always had a heart for Japan and has already studied the language. Her passion in life is to become more like Christ and to bring glory to His name every day. Aarika knows that if she desires the Lord's will every day she will be, "setting her mind on things above..."
